gear is not needed, it will just add to extra cost and maintenance, gear oil bearing etc. Ev motors are powerful and don't need gear

Considering 5kw battery range should be 200+. I think integration of gear box with the motor made it less efficient. More moving parts more friction less efficient. It's a complicated bike!

You are true. However, one of the key drawbacks of e-bikes is the non-immersive feel, which is tried to address in this bike. Plus, with gear, load on the motor can be reduced, thus again lowering its heating issues, which I guess is the biggest issue of the E-bikes on-road today. All said and done, the actual truth will come out only when we see the on-road performance. Till then, fingers crossed !!
