One of the most amazing vlogs seen of kheerganga!! I was planning to go in December around Christmas this year. I’m not so familiar with Himachal, hence planning to trek with a trekking community. What do you think about December as a visiting time? Hiking shoes would work or do I need to get (or rent, we can right?) spikes?
@akulbajaj3 ай бұрын
Thank you so much for the kind words! Around Christmas, ideally there should be a lot of snow and you'll have a great time. It's a great decision to go with a trekking group if you are trekking in this area for the first time. Normal hiking shoes should work and with a group, you always have help and support so it's manageable. However, my advice would be to rent the spikes for safety and confidence. From what I know, you can rent the spikes now at the starting point of trek as well. All the best for your trek!

Planning to visit this december 1st half, can we expect snow then? Also is it dangerous/risky to any extent in snow?
@akulbajaj2 ай бұрын
It would depend on your luck buddy. Keep checking the weather forecasts and follow any news available of that region. Ideally you should get some snow in first half of december. Jan/Feb is when you get to experience snow in abundance. Trek in a group and follow the path which your guide recommends. You should be good. It's a very safe trek unless you try something rambo on frozen ice. Usually soft snow gives you some grip whereas frozen black ice is slippery and should be avoided. Have a safe trek and enjoy!

Kasol and kheerganga are different places? If yes, which one is the best to go?
@akulbajaj Жыл бұрын
Yes bpth are different places. Kasol is a small city which you can reach by road and it has all hotels and arrangements. Kheerganga is a trek in which you have to first travel 30 km by road and then trek another 12 km to reach. Kheerganga is a better place in my opinion.

Thanks a lot 😊 I think both the dates should have a lot of snow. Better would be 20 Feb as the crowd would be less. Yes, it's absolutely safe for ladies. The trek experiences a lot of snow during winters and the temperatures dip pretty low and hence there weren't a lot of girls in this vlog but otherwise it's a very safe and famous trek amongst girl gangs as well.

Hello, such an awesome video mann !! Can i go in the first week of January 2025? And if there is heavy snowfall what precautions should be taken? Like i want to experience snowfall but heavy snowfall shouldn't affect us much right?
@akulbajajАй бұрын
Thank you! Yes, first week of Jan is a good time to do this trek. In case of excessive snowfall just go in a group and help each other out in slippery sections. Take proper hiking shoes and if possible rent shoe spikes. A lot of trekkers walk this route so the trail is well marked and even in case of excessive snowfall it's safe to hike.

@akulbajajАй бұрын
@@thehypnoticcat Thank you! Usually last week of Jan has more snow and difficult conditions to hike compared to the first week. Jan/Feb are peak winter months. However do check the weather forecasts and local news. The first snowfall usually gives a good idea of how much snow you'll be facing in first/last week of Jan.

It would depend on the severity of asthma. If it's less than 2 attacks per week and it's mild then with medications you can probably do it. However it's best to consult your doctor before attempting the hike.

Lovely vlog. Enjoyed it. I want to do it in mid February. Will there be snow? Also could you please share the details of where you got your costume and spikes? How did you reach barsaini?
@akulbajaj11 ай бұрын
Thank you 😊 Yes, there should be plenty of snow mid February. I got the spikes from Decathlon for around 4.5k. You can get the jacket etc also from there. They have the most value for money items. We reached Barsaini by own car. The road is narrow but nicely maintained so any car can go. There are buses and shared cabs as well which you can take from Manali or Bhuntar.

Hi. Planning to take this trek in last week of december this year. Will there be snow like you have shown in this video? We are a group of friends having no prev. trekking experience. We are planning to take a guide. Is it safe to take this trek now? What do you think? BTW amazing vlog... enjoyed a lot
@akulbajaj11 ай бұрын
Thanks a lot for the kind comment. From recent news, prominent peaks have recieved snowfall couple of days back so ideally there should be snow in Kheerganga in last week of December. However it's all very unpredictable and we can only guess. Jan and Feb you'll surely see lots of snow. It's a 12 km hike and fairly well marked. As a beginner, it would make a great first trek. Guide might be able to help you navigate through slippery ice patches but other than that you won't need help in navigating. It's a straightforward trail. It's a very safe trek if there's no snow. With snow, some patches become slippery which becomes slightly risky but it's fun as well if you have the right shoes and spikes. Lot of people do it in every season and month so you'll have company as well. Stay safe and enjoy the trek.

@funbookdiaries924811 ай бұрын
Yesterday only we did this trek , If you start early it can be completed in one day.(depending upon your energy level and stamina and how much risk you can take )..don't take the Village route ( it is 3Km long ) .we started 11 Am and reached 4 PM (including 2 breaks of half half hours).After the waterfall ,the trek is a bit hard due to dry ice patches in between .We did it on Friday, and couldn't find ice. When we left on Saturday morning, the snowfall started . if you don't find snowfall ,you won't enjoy it ..scenes would be completely different. When we were coming back ,we found a huge crowd going up due to long weekend... Overall Average rating from my end due to no crowd and no snowfall
@akulbajaj11 ай бұрын
Thanks a lot for the kind words. Couple of things to factor in for same day return hike 1. Stamina, Speed 2. Snow, black ice If you can trek slightly fast, you can trek up in 4-5 hrs. Normally it takes around 6 hrs. Snow is fine for trekking but black ice is very slippery and takes more time to cross. The trek is still close to 24 km to and fro which is a lot for one day. So please be mindful and prepare accordingly. It can be done in a day but it'll be a stretch.

If there is snow then all shoes will skid, be it sports or trekking shoes. In those situations only spikes can save you. If you are going when there is little or no snow then sport shoes are also fine. December end mein shayad aapko snow mile. December starting mein toh it should be clear.

Sorry the hot spring had been permanently closed. Now there are small taps which give the same spring water. People used to drink and misbehave around that area so the locals took a decision to dry up the spring and instead have a tap system where people can come and take a bath under taps.
