Jalal ud Din Khilji, a commander of Mamluk Sultan Muiz Ul Din, rebelled against him, killed him along with his son and seized the throne. He started Khilji empire at the age of seventy. But mere six years later, his nephew Ala Ud Din Khilji stood against him and killed him by plotting rebellion.He was one of the most powerful and effective sultan of delhi sultanate. He was also considered most cruel of them. His sons succeeded him but they could not hold empire. In the year 1320, empire fell into the hands of Tughluqs, starting Tughluq Dynasty.
