As a young 22 year old, a woman, and a big music fan, this woman and band has paved the way for me. Everything about Debbie had/sex appeal, everything about her, what a performer! As a lover of music and a young girl, blondie are everything and the best musical group I have loved and listened to. My love for this band is beyond limits. Great observation! It's no secret that many female lead singers in recent years try to outdo each other by seeing who can wear less and less clothing, showing more and more skin -- thinking they are really "cutting edge" by doing so -- yet there was Debbie. oozing sexuality in baggy clothing, completely covered.

Misfit Toys used to cover it. Taking a cue from Debbie the singer would put on shades, throw a beach towel over her shoulder and yell 'is everybody ready to hang ten?' The drummer was classic rock and refused to play the 'new music' in 1985 until he heard Clem then he was all for it.

Debbie Harry is completely unique and unmatchable, as a fan of Britney Spears, Madonna, you name it, no one will ever come close to the sheer talent and performer Debbie was and still is. Debbie Harry is the reason I have chased my music, played my guitar and sung songs. She is everything, she has been for the last 40 odd years, she paved the way for every woman in music today, whether she knows that or now. I cannot express the respect, gratitude and love I have for Debbie, she's changed the game, and it will forever be different. No hate by the way, I'm all love! This is an awesome show. Debbie Harry's singing in this show has elements of a 1970s Patti Smith vocal style. Jimmy Destri at times sounds like Ray Manzarek of the Doors. Clem plays Keith Moon-inspired hard-hitting fills... Blondie was fun as a punk band in 1977. This would have been a very fun show in person. I also like the sound that Blondie developed with Parallel Lines and after, but early Blondie was raw and rockin'!

Two friends of mine and I met Debra and Chris after their set opening for The Kinks in July of 1978 to arrange an interview for a local radio station. Very nice they were, Chris had their stage togs in a grocery bag and we exchanged pleasantries, took a couple of photos, got our ticket stubs autographed and got their room number. Turns out their manager had swapped rooms with the band and had not been informed of the Clem Burke arranged interview. Doubtful he was even after he tuned a radio to the station's frequency and we identified the on-air program. Interview cancelled. If you run across some photos online from that year of the band hanging out around an empty hotel pool that's the place they were staying. Coincidentally, cattycornered from a punk club where I DJ'd.
