An avid horror fan here and just want to give some updates and a bit of trivia. Also, like you both even I am craving for a good horror film in Bollywood. So here is some info: *The Apple Story was in DARNA MANA HAI and was not Sunil Shetty. It was Rajpal Yadav, Shilpa Shetty, and Sanjay Kapoor.* *Sunil Shetty was in DARNA ZAROORI HAI with Sonali Kulkarni and Rajpal Yadav where Rajpal Yadav played the creepy life insurance guy, so it was an honest confusion.* *WELCOME HOME is a Hindi movie.* *Manoj Pahwa's story was in DARNA ZAROORI HAI and I agree it was the best of them all, you will be surprised to know that Sajid Khan directed that sequence.* *The guy who played SAAMRI and ghosts in most of Ramsay's movies was Aniruddh Agarwal. He has studied Civil Engineering at IIT Roorkee.*

I want help to find a movie (isaw a movie in my childhood i remember some of scene, please help to find this movie, it was hindi movie, i dont know it was a dubbed hindi or original) Movie story (as i remember): in the movie there was a women, she tries to realive her daughter by some black magic which she learned from laal or maybe kaali kitab. But while she was doing hte ritual her husband (drunk) disturbed her and her daughter turned into a pret atma ( in the ritual, she was pouring some blood drops in the girl's mouth, but accidenty she poured extra blood which turned her into ghost). And maybe her whole house become haunted, and as i remember the house was sealed with chanted nails to protect the houes. The spirit started to haunt some guys maybe living in that house i dont remember that part properly but to kill the spirit they stabbed the spirit with some kind of knife and birned the laal/kaali kitab. In the end only a girl survived. I dont remember the movie name. Please tell me if anyone knows the movie.

Hi Shan. i am from Kolkata, I remember reading about the Partha case, but can't recall much detail other than the sister part. Just looked up google while listening to this podcast. Seems in 2024 a documentary has been made. Streaming on the platform Hoichoi owned by Shree Venkatesh Films, biggest movie company in Bengal today. Project is called "Robinson Street Horror Story". I am putting on my watchlist. Hoichoi is a globally available app so there will be English subtitles for what I assume will be in Bengali. Socha bataa dein, kyonki hum bot to hai nahi jo beech beech language switch maarte rahein. I know Bengali par ghar mein Hindi boltein hain to saare shabd mereko bhi nahi pataa. Subs ki zaroorat to mereko bhi padegi

@nightmayor6114 they were talking bout a movie, mostly probably based on Stephen King's writing, how can it be an ep of Black Mirror bro? I just googled what you said, doesn't resemble what they are talking bout in this podcast. I'm just too curious to check it out, sounds intriguing to me.

@@saaranshkaul3184 naah bro it's literally the same a girl takes her camera crew which is just a boy to her grandparents town which was once a bustling tourist spot. They also visit a dungeon in her grandparents house and find tapes. In middle of those recorded tapes there were clips and full recordings of incest and necrophilia, only this time it is the grandfather of girl who was a honest policeman and died in an accident and it is revealed that he used to kidnap children and bring them to dungeon and together with his wife they used to YKW them and record it. It's literally the same. Maybe they mis-remembered but this episode is burned in my memory

Pehle horror isliye chalta tha jab internet nhi tha and ap sirf bhoot ki kahani sunte the and apko crimes ki itni news nhi milti thi apart from big crimes... after internet now ap bhoot ki Kahaaniyon ka mazaak bante sunte ho so ap bhoot horror se relate nhi kar paate but now apko crimes ki news bhut milti hai so jab wo horror banke aata hai, wo dekhme mein actuall darr lagta hai....great example is jeffry dahmer and sector 36, even shaitan is crime horror.....so ab bhoot horror nhi chalega if it doesnt have comedy.....

In terms of folklore becoming a horror for people tumbaad and asur In terms of ghosts helping solve a crime nothing tops Talaash (kareena being mainstream did a fab job and she can be subtle too as seen in Buckingham murders and jaane jaan) In terms of old movies , nothing tops psychological thriller quite like urmilas kaun and she did a fab job in bhoot as well. I don’t like Deepika and Om shanti om is not a horror movie I know that but the scene where she comes down the stairs to scare arjun rampal stayed with me And what’s missing is child actors because children convey horror more convincingly . 6th sense remains my favourite and Aamir khan could have remade that but we don’t have good child actors across the country’s vivid woods not just Bollywood . In Bollywood recently I liked pari and bulbul We desperately need a remake because Bollywood has no original cell in its body, of the haunting of bly manor.

Vikram Bhatt is excellent at horror. But he kept on repeating his formula to death. Raaz 1 was scariest for me. The scream of the girl and some visuals haunted me for months. I was never scared by Annabelle and conjuring for long time but Raaz is most scariest.
