Damn, really? That makes mage hand practically useless now except as a shove-summon. They removed the ability for arcane trickster mage hand to pickpocket or open doors or pick locks, and you can activate levers by shooting them, so the only actual thing it does now is shove (invisibly, potentially).

If you let Volo go back to your camp, eventually he’ll try to take the tadpole out himself. If you let him and go along with the whole thing, he will pop your eye out accidentally but in return give you a fake eye that allows you to see invisible enemies within 9 meters 👍🏻

You can cheese grymforge by useing a solo mage. Activate the fight and fly or misty step to the pathway leading to the forge. Enemies cant hit you there and you can cantrip them to death. Also if you have issues keeping him in lava using a summon like distraction kitty will lead him back in. Dont forget you can half health him by smashing him in the forge, you can activate the lever with arrows. :)

Although it doesn't get you all of the different molds, another way to get to the teleport spot is to go to the area where Nere is stuck, there is a broken statue of Shar on a circle platform. If you go there then use Misty Step to reach the land across from it, you find yourself in the area that has the Ancient Rune.

The passive dmg reduction stacks with heavy armor master and the reel effects stack as well. So using the shield plus splint mail gives enemies a hefty minus on attack. The shield gives reel when attackers miss you, and the armor when you are hit, which in effect provides you with immensely high AC. Couple the splint with heavy armor master for 5 damage reduction. .

Absolutely. I'd rate the armors as easy S-tier, but the weapons as probably a low A-tier, as you can get some really good stuff just a little later in the game with extra damage dice, like the Selunite glaive thingy.

@@CxOrillion the weapons are still pretty strong because they ignore damage resistances. On bosses/mobs that have resistance/immunity they become some of the best weapons even in act3 beating most legendary weapons of same type.

There's an oil that gives you that effect and the game basically throws it at you from the moment you leave Nautilloid- it's called 'diluted oil of sharpness' you can buy it from basically anyone, or make a metric ton of this stuff from viridian crystals once you get to the Underdark. It bypasses all non-magical resistances- which is what you're looking for, weapons deal physical damage, gives you +1 damage and attack rolls (higher hit chance) and you can apply it before or during a fight as a bonus action, it lasts for 10 turns (or a minute outside of turn-based mode)

If you are crafty and have fly on you, you can get the drow studded leather earlier. If you manage to find a way into the underdark before you deal with gobboes (you can do this yes) you can use a fly spell/scroll/potion/whatever to fly up to the ridge from the other side and claim the chest. Just be warned that it has a 15 DC lock on it.

If you have someone with mage hand as an action on cantrip, it also works. Mage hand cast on the upper ledge and then use the hand to throw the chest back across the chasm before the hand expires. Also Gith lady can use her psionic jump to get up there if I recall correctly.

For Grym, you CAN damage him with bludgeoning damage while it's softened by the lava, I killed him without using the forge hammer with my monk without issues (there's actually a steam achievement for that)

You can damage him with any damage while he is softened by the lava. The whole point of the fight is to keep the lava debuff on him always. It stays on him for 2 turns. If it falls off he becomes immune to every type of damage.

For the forge, there is an easier path, to reach the 2nd set of levers, start from the central square where Nate is blocked of, and come back the way you came until you see a golden circle thinky on the floor (looks like the base of a pillar) from that jump once to the rocks to the site, loot the chest and climb some rocks to reach the 2nd set of levers with only 1 jump

you can get to the under dark from the blighted village. Just use feather fall and jump into the chasm where spider boss is. You will land near the minotaur fight in the under dark

Just make sure that you use something like Feather Fall before the character jumps. Jump into the chasm without it and you'll get a cutscene of your character just falling to their death instead. You can also do this with Feather Fall if you jump into the chasm near Minthara in the goblin camp. This will also deposit you in the Underdark.

Ive had this video saved for like a month or two now. I finally started playing BG3 about 2 weeks ago and now im finally at the forge. Im on tactical and was expecting the boss to be much, much harder. But knowing ahead of time that he goes towards who hits him made it a cake walk. Also i followed a quest to the area which lead to a big fight and i had picked up the boots from a corpse after. Didnt realize how good they were at first. But im glad i threw em on. Also also, thank you for the helpful videos! They're a life saver when I'm trying to plan out my next steps in the game. I'll see something cool you've posted. Then I'll get an idea of where to go. You can kill the golem with out even using the hammer pretty easily since its vulnerable to bludgeoning damage just have laezel and karlach go to town on him with some mauls and extra attack and potion of haste for additional actions for more attacks

The forge golem is made of adamantite and gives you a debut after you smack it. Thats gonna be a LONG fight (300 hp) and it does the quake AoE move every turn. You'd need a ton of hp to survive that every turn until you wear him out. I killed him at party level 4, but it was challenging after the lava imps popped out 😮

I'm currently 100 hours into my Honor Mode PT and having myself (paladin/oathbreaker), laz'el fighter, shadowheart cleric, and a hireling bard have been phenomenal. I crafted for me and laz'el, and using a feat passive to allow shadowheart to use heavy armor and use the helmet that nullifies critical hits on 3/4 party members as well as added defense has been a great tactic for me so far.

Nifty tip….when you’re fighting the mechanical adamantine machine boss, a paladin using thunder smite x2 with bludgeoning will do the trick too

You can also ignore all the Bridges and reach the way point with a misty step just from the side.. However you will want to backtrack and get the shield mould since it's easily the best shield in the game since it provides you with reel when misses instead of when hit, and when hit it gives you a reaction to knock your attacker prone if thei fail a dexterity save. You can knly craft 2 items. Ensure you craft the shield and then either the splint mail.or scale mail. The weapons are not worth it. Do remember the final boss drops a heavy armor helmet which also grants crit immunity. So if you want. Crit immunity is extremly strong especially for barbarians and classes that uses concentration spells.

You want to have two party members at the lava wheel and two at the lever, or a fighter with action surge or a hasted party member. You will be able to open zhe lava gate even if the lava is still there which reapplies the debuff.

It's nice to see they're finally got around to upgrading them. The adamantine armor and weapons I remember during early access some like this is pathetic. This is all it does. I says lysells armor isn't much different than this and they have no effects on them. It wasn't even worth trying to get so it's nice to see they increase the armor class on them by at least one to two per piece and added some additional effects. Now it's at least worth using. At the Githyanki Patrol area. The one with the dragon, there's a Githyanki that gets off the dragon. He's wielding the Silver Sword of the Astral Plane Legendary Greatsword. If you bring a companion that can use the spell "Command" you can use it to make him drop his weapon. It will be a 9% chance for him to drop it on a lvl 2 Command: Drop spell and 12% on lvl 3. Do this after you've done the Underdark and gotten good loot like shown in this video because those enemies HURT. Make sure you enter Turn-Based mode before getting too close to the patrol because otherwise it will trigger a cutscene. You will be forced into combat after using the spell so make sure you have a save rught before using the spell. Also, don't bring Lae'zel because she'll turn hostile if you fight the Creche like that when she's there. Ironically, if you DON'T get the guy to drop his sword, they'll turn hostile on you and Lae'zel anyway, at which point she'll actually help you fight them. You then just can't get the sword, so just make sure Lae'zel is at camp and you'll be fine. I currently have my Fighter with the heavy armor and the helmet from the Forge and that weapon. Nothing's getting close to me lol

You can shoot the levers with any bow or crossbow and they'll activate so you can have your whole party on it. At no point on the platforms are you out of range of the levers. But your method works fine as well, just shooting them might be a bit faster.

I deceived the mushroom guy and he gave me immediate access to the vine room . Then I let Neir die in the trapped tunnel and got the boots but the few gnomes that die with him are probably for the sidequest the sick gnome gives you so if you're a good playthrough maybe not the way to go .

You can absolutely kill Grym without using the hammer and complicated tactics unless you're playing on tactitian - just prepare bludgeoning weapons and magic missiles. He can be damaged for 2 turns after stepping in lava so just position your party on the platforms around his entrance to keep him in it and reactivate the lava flow if it runs out. 3 turns should be enough for any party with a hammer wielding fighter and or paladin

Dont kill Grym with the forge hammer. You can reduce his health points this way, but do not kill him with it. In my play through i killed him with the hammer, and he clipped through the crucible making it permanently unusable. I can not put any ore in it, because i can not select it.

You absolutely can take the forge boss out without the forge hammer. While he is in the lava he takes double damage from bludgeoning. As long as my fighter and Karlach have war hammer type weapons they can take him out. Just make sure one of the characters is managing the lava flow.

About the forge for me the best weapon that you get is the adamantine scimitar, it is a very powerful weapon, and you dont lose damage if you doing dual wielding build, and you have some effects really good, like when you are dueling you receive +2 in final damage, it is really powerfull. And a Tip when you get Volo in the camp, always talk to him, until he say that want to try take the worm from you re head, say yes and choose all the resist quotes, and you will be reward if a eye that see invisible things, it is very good because you will be never ambush again, because of this eye passive is See All, a very potent spell that you get only in level 5 has a magician class, and is permanent.

Not 100% sure if this game follows 5e resistance rules because in 5e resistance does not stack. If you have fire resistance twice it will only halve the damage once. Love your videos btw.

I killed this one on balance difficulty by standing around the place he spawns like close to him , but watching not to step in lava. I used Barbarian, paladin and Cleric with blunt weapons and that vampire rogue next to lever utilizing stealth and ranged ambush. My paladin is heavy armor shield with potion and oils that increase accuracy. Quick save soon you spawn him. And then quick save after every successful turn. By successful I mean where at least 3 character did some damage to him. If they miss just reload the save. Use cleric and self heals when you drop below 50% hp and you should be good

the boss in the grimforge is NOT immune to all damage IF you use the valve that started that fight again to shut of the the lava. once the boss is out of the lava you can in fact damage it like any other enemy. do note though that you have to shut off that valve every now and again

Umm... pretty sure it's the opposite. The valve only briefly lets the lava out then the lava drains away on it's own. You must have turned the valve coincidentally thinking you caused it to vanish. You do need to turn that valve, but it's to bring the lava back to soften him. It's like making the armour in the forge. Hit hardens, turn on lava to soften, then hit again. (Its in the forge instruction book you find). You cannot damage him when he's hardened. Even dropping the hammer on him does nothing if he's hardened. Trust me, I tried a lavaless fight and dropped the hammer on him ten times before I realised "hmmm... this isn't working"... All the damage numbers come up zero when he's hardenned.

you can craft 2, as there are only 2 mithril ores in the area. But I saved right before crafting the second one to see what the weapon is all about. I ended up crafting the 2 armors (1 on my paladin, 1 for shadowheart)

After I made my armor the lava wouldn’t turn off and now it doesn’t go up or down so I have to waypoint out and feather fall down

I had my entire party equip blunt weapons and just beat him down in two rounds. Central hammer wasn’t necessary.

Why is the Warped headband of intelligence not on the list? It is 1 of the best filler stat item in the game. It literally gives you 17 int regardless of what you invested into intelligence. You can be an 8 int eldritch knight with crap spells damage, then equip the headband and all of a sudden you can cast a 3-30 firebolt as an action.

The headband was nerfed for release. It no longer sets your int to 17. One site says it's now just +2 Int and another said +3.

dont equip the armor and helm of not getting critical on one character, separe them so you can make half your party immune to critical hits

Wow i didn't even use the levers, I just used Enhance Leap to jump to the rocks between lava on the left side to the other side to get to the side with the forge.

You can also just surround Grym in the lava with melee hitters and bludgeon him to death.
