My first assignment in the Army was to West Germany in early 1989, where I had a front row seat to the Iron Curtain falling. It was an incredibly optimistic time. America was genuinely beloved by most of the world and seeing the masses of people joyously fleeing from the hell that is Socialism to freedom was an incredible thing to experience. It's amazing how fast all of the lessons of the first Cold War have been forgotten, and thats a dangerous truth.

Khrushchev visit to the USA upgraded competition to higher scale......American popular policy humbled it's Gest( host) several times...khrushchev showed several naivety attitudes in deferent occasions ....rather bluffing.
