This is one of a Ukrainian folk song "Chernomorets" variations, it's also often referred as "A girl was sitting at the window".
One of the old versions:
Oh, a girl was sitting near the window,
She saw a man from the Black Sea (Chernomorets).
Chernomorets, oh mother, Chernomorets,
He brought me outside being barefoot to the frost.
He brought me barefoot outside and asked:
"Is it frosty, young lady, or not?".
"Oh, not at all, it's only dew",
Because I have been standing barefoot all night long.
So I was standing all night long but I didn't care
Because I loved Chernomorets a lot.
"So where did you look, my daughter,
as you could fall in love with Chernomorets?".
"I looked, mommy, to the rooms,
I thought I would rule".
I thought, mommy, I would rule,
But it happened, mommy, to grieve.
It happened, mommy, to grieve,
To harvest rye in a clean field.
To harvest rye in a clean field,
And also to lull a small baby.
(A bit more pessimistic version of the ending: To harvest rye in a foreign field, and curse my faith).

Khrystyna has been performing her cover in a more rockish style which is pretty much natural for her for several years. She uses one of the shortest versions of a folk song:
