Let's say a person who was raised as a non-Muslim and goes from being an unbeliever to a Shiite Muslim. But before that they saved $10,000 in their bank account (for emergency use) before becoming a Muslim. Do they still have to pay Khums on that money that was saved as an unbeliever before they took the Shahada? Or does Khums activate after the person becomes a Muslim?

Because the descendant of prophet cannot tak zakat but there are descendants of prophet who are not in good condition at the time of prophet and later khums was part of state treasure that the syed have access to in time of need so khums is right of prophet Muhammad descendants. But remember khums is not charity cause Syeds can’t take charity ether it be zakat or sadka

@@tahakazmi7684 Islam created Khums to honour Ahl Ul Bait. Because charity is the dirt of the people that is a result of washing sins. I don’t see the difference between Khums and Zakat. I disagree with the interpretation of the word “ghanimatum” means “whatever you have earned” in verse 41 and 69. The Sahih international translation of aya 69 states: *So consume what you have taken of war booty [as being] lawful and good, and fear Allah. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful* So in both verses the word “ghanimatum” actually does mean war booty. Furthermore, if you look at the surrounding verses and the historical context of when this verse was revealed, one would reach a conclusion that the word ghanimatum clearly means war booty. Since these verses were revealed before, during and after the battle of Badr. Not to mention the chapter that this verse is in is called “Al-Anfaal” which literally translates to “The spoils of war”.

There was a pharmacy that refused to pay khums. So Allah hit them with a problem and the amount of money they had to pay to fix it was exactly what they owed in khums. There is also another story where a man tried to make his khums less by suddenly spending his money on things like jewelry. Allah put him in a car accident and the amount that he had to pay was what he would have paid had he paid khums normally. Moral is, this money is Allah's, and He will take what is His whether you do it willingly or not. So do it willingly so that He may reward you and increase your sustenance.

Seriously? Marja has an authority over this? I don't want to disrespect but Marja has no right over my Khums. In the absence of Imam, no one has right over the khums. I'm knowledgeable enough to distribute my Khums properly. "Know that whatever of a thing you acquire, a fifth of it is for Allah, for the Messenger, for the near relative, and the orphans and the needy and they way farer" ..... (Qur'an 8:41) Thus Khums (literally one fifth of gain) should go to six people: 1. Allah 2. His Messenger 3. The near relative of the Messenger (Ahlul-Bayt) 4. Orphan 5. needy 6. the person who has fallen away from his home-town (and has no money to comeback to his own place).

How are you and the one who said "Quran is enough for us" different? The reason we follow Marje is because Imam made them authority. And this concept was even present during the times of Imam Naqi and Imam Askari.
@sayyedmuhammed9 ай бұрын
@@Thaqlain Salamun alaikum 1- I did not say that ''Quran is enough for us''. 2- There is a difference between authority and consultant. Marje should act like a consultant because authority was/is/will be Prophets/Imams. 3- Yes! The concept you have mentioned was present but in the guidance of Imams. Now, in the absence of Imam(major occultation) those consultants are just consultants instead of an authority(and they were never an authority, there is no hadith). 4- Marje cannot make anything valid which was invalid(or vice versa) at the time of Imam and neither should they do it now because they are just a consultant. Moreover taqleed is not valid over obligatory things including Khums 5- Where it is mentioned in the Quran or hadith that Marja has right over my khums? Quote a verse from the Quran or hadith. You run an Islamic channel so please do not reply without any references. 6- May Allah(swt) guide both of us towards the right path, Ilahi Ameen.

The Imam decides when to appoint a consultant and when to give authority to that consultant. The idea of providing authority to companions was even found at the time of Imam Sadiq. However, in the case of Imam Mahdi, we have clear guidance that the narrators of hadiths (Ulema/Marajieen) have authority over us and the Imam has authority over them. For more, please refer to the Thaqlain Guide on this topic.
@sayyedmuhammed9 ай бұрын
@@Thaqlain There is no Hadith like this. Only consultation is mentioned no more than that. In addition, narrators of hadiths can be ''non-marje'' as well. Only Prophets and Imams have authority over us. Consequently, Ulema/Marajieen have no right over my Khums. There is no obligation on shia to pay Khums to them. May Allah guide us to the right path.
