Excellent! 👌. I share the views of Rana Mohsin. It reminds me of my trip from Barrian (Murri) to Khunjarab back in August 1990, on my bike Honda CD 70, along with a friend. Things have changed a lot. Road wasn't that smooth. In place of current huge gate structure only two 7 feet pillars were there along with a sign board reading " Khunjarab 16000 feet". Though a roadside board at Soost did mentioned that "No service is available beyond it" but to our surprise we did find a PSO petrol pump at " Billi" nearly 20 KM ahead and a camp at " Deh" another 15 KM away. Since oxygen is depleted at Khunjarab so some one starts feeling light as if one is in foaming state. This is a just temporary phase. Thanks dear Manan taking me back to my youth.

I am sure it would have been an altogether different experience. And it is amazing to see that you remember all the details from that trip like the petrol pump at Billi or the camp at Deh. Swift is a powerful car, there won't be much issues. The toughest ascent and descent are around Babusar top (if you follow that route). The roads are usually very very good all the way till Khunjerab Pass. There won't be any issues.

Hello Ali! Thanks for the kind words and appreciation. Higher tyre pressure results in tyres becoming more stiffer making the car more bumpy with an increased risk of puncture. With increase in altitude, the air pressure reduces. The pressure in tyres however is based on the last filling station which was probably in lower altitude. Hencez the tyre pressure becomes higher than the air pressure outside. Therefore, it is necessary to reduce this higher pressure to bring it at level with the atmospheric pressure.

Thank dear. Sure dear I am planing to take my family to visit this beautiful scenic valley. When I visited last back in 1990, just 7 persons were there at the top; a security person, my friend, myself and 4 young men in a jeep. Those were too from Lahore . Let me share with you that prio to Khunjarab's trip, me and my friend had a trip of Neelum Valley in 1989, again on our bike an went upto kail. At Sharda a place nearly two hours short of Kail, where Neelum river's breadth becomes maximum and it flows very calmly. we met a group of youngsters enjoying by playing hand ball along the river bank side.Those were also from Lahore. Both the events speaks of " Zinda Dil " nature of Lahories. Neelum valley presents the real beauty of Kashmir. I am sure you also have been to there. If not take a trip. Remain Blessed, Aameen.

Thanks for sharing these lovely memories sir. It is wonderful to know how you made this trip when most of the people in Pakistan back then would have been probably unaware of Khunjerab Pass. Must have been really thrilling as well. Nowadays, it is a lot more safer and convenient, and you can see families and kids running around atop Khunjerab Pass. I have been lucky enough to visit Azad Kashmir as well. Although we couldn't go beyond Shardha due to time constraints. So visiting Kel is definitely on my travel list.

Hi Faizan Our total expense for 4 adults neared 80 to 90 thousand but that is totally relative. I mean, you choice of transport (personal car vs shared bus), quality of rooms, food and shopping etc. determine your cost for the trip.

Walikum Assalam Chillas to Raikot bridge is usually 1.5 to 2 hours depending on the road condition (this patch is usually rough as the road is pretty broken and there is possibility of land sliding as well). As for the fuel availability, there are fuel stations on Karakoram Highway as soon as you enter it when coming from Babusar top.

If your car tires have good health and air pressure, there is very less chance of a puncture. The road (between Chillas and Raikot) is open for all types of traffic and you'll see Hondas and Toyotas and even Japanese cars on this patch driving by. The road is wide and completely safe in terms of slopes, however, the road quality is poor due to frequent land sliding.

Attabad k baad 2 hi stops hain: Gulmit ya Passu. We chose Gulmit becuase it is greener and has more hotel choices Naran se agay kafi points hain but we chose Battakundi because it is right before the journey of Babusar (saves time next day) and Battakundi bilkul main road pe hi hai so apko right left kahin nae jana parta and the road quality is pretty good
