Khyanjeet Gogoi is an orchid conservator of North East India. He had done many discoveries in the field of Orchid and he had felicitated by the McAllen International Orchid Society as "Research Fellow" in the year 2016-17. He also wrote many research papers, journals and books upon Orchid plants.
Khyanjeet Gogoi, science teacher, and orchid conservationist and has been involved in research works related with orchid taxonomy and conservation since 1994;
Life member of The Orchid Society of India and East Himalayan Society for Spermatophyte Taxonomy (Taxo Club) and the founder member of The Orchid Society of Eastern Himalaya (TOSEHIM), Kalimpong; over 102 publications in national & international research journals including two books and many new records from the region.
His three books are:
1) Orchids of Dibru Saikhowa National Park and Biosphere Reserve.
2) Wild Orchids of Tinsukia District of Assam.
3) Wild Orchids of Assam
He has the experience to work with the Forest Department, Assam, as an Orchidologist for the ‘Biodiversity Documentation Programme’ of Joypur, Dibru- Saikhowa and Karbi Anglong District of Assam. He has credit to record many new species of Orchids from Assam, North East India. He has written over a dozen articles on Orchids in Assamese magazines and presented many nature and orchid diversity related presentation in seminar National and International and educational institutions ranging from kindergarten schools to University and nature education camps organized by NGOs.
Many participants from these camps have since become professional ecologists, conservationists, nature educators, and activists working with forest tribal groups and their social and environmental issues. His work has evolved from about twenty years of the exploring, culturing, and seriously studying and publishing about the orchids. In his books and journals, the diagrammatic figures and the floral photographs are of such high quality that it helps other researchers and readers as well.

1) Research Fellow of the McAllen International Orchid Society of McAllen Taxas, U.S.A; 14th June, 2016.
2) Arun Pandey Biodiversity Award, East Himalayan Society for Spermatophyte Taxonomy, Dept. of Botany, North Bengal University; 8-9 March, 2018.
