The fourth row is not a gimmick. It's actually pretty useful if you can adjust the other seats. My friend has one and we all (11) friends went on a vacation in northern areas with our luggage tied on top. All rows, including the driver and passenger seats, had to be adjusted. Yes it will eat space in the 3rd, 2nd and 1st row but they already have so much space so it wouldn't be as bad as you're imagining. We had a lot of fun and had no problem with space. While there aren't any air vents in the last row, cars AC itself is so amazing, it kept the temperature very normal and it didn't feel claustrophobic at all + the fourth row has it's own charging socket and available seat belts if you're feeling unsecured. Also, the space in the boot is not equivalent to a normal sedan as you falsely mentioned. It's a lot more than that because it's in vertical shape. If you're carrying 8 passengers, you can actually fit all of their luggage in the boot, albeit the back window will get blocked.

as of sedan in sense k they'd occupy almost same amount of space in litres. Else yes, I think 11 people can travel comfortably.

@@HTrntrs But they won't. It has almost the double the amount of boot space as compared to any sedan in terms of "litres/cubes". In a sedan, you cannot actually put 5 full size luggage in its boot. In this van, you can actually put 8 people's full size luggage if there are 8 passengers, specially if you take out the fourth row which will give you even more space. It's not even a comparison.

@@usmantariq7997 Just researched the boot space in a sedan like Yaris is 470L, meanwhile Carnival has like 540l with all rows operational. Still a big number for an 11 seater.

@@HTrntrs I read its information from Pakwheels. It says, it has more than 900l of boot space. Maybe the information there is wrong or I read it wrong. In any case, my later statement is true. Due to its vertical shape, you can actually add the same number of luggage as the number of people sitting in the car (8), something not possible in a sedan and even if you're able to do it, you'll be left with no space to add anything more. So comparing its boot space to a sedan is plain stupid.

Back rows dont have any leg space issues. You guys don't know minivans and such have middle seats adjustable and whenever someone needs to go in the back front and middle seats are adjusted.

In terms of ground clearance, Fortuner is better. It has 220 MM of ground clearance, whereas Carnival has 180 MM.
