KIA FORTE / Kenwood DMX7522S with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto

Came across these clips while cleaning up my overflowing hard drive. These clips are from a few months ago but I though I would share it anyways as its still pretty relevant. Hope someone out there finds it useful.
This customer came to us to upgrade his head unit to something with wireless Apple CarPlay. The Kenwood DMX7522S is one of the few brand name models out in the market that is priced below RM2K.
Next up is the dash kit. For the Kia Forte you need to be aware of the dashkit you need as they have a few models with only slight differences. I believe it lies in the AC controls. Either analog dials or digital. Other than that, the dashkit comes in 2 pieces. Make sure you get the one with the inner trim piece, otherwise there will be a gaping hole between the head unit and trim piece.
Finally the harness adapter. The KIA uses the standard ISO harness adapter with the additional plug for the steering controls. The antenna also uses a KIA design plug so make sure you get the correct adapter for it to work.
Overall very satisfied with the job. However, for those who want to DIY this, you will need a lot of patience in aligning the head unit to the trim piece. A number of test fits and adjustments will need to be made before you get it right. It can be done with some patience.
