I have to disagree with your suggestion that the EV only range is a gimmick. We bought the car for the fact I can do my weekly commute to work and back on electric power alone. We've had the car since July and just put my third tank of fuel in the other week in February. Other than that, apart from the differences on my NA spec car you're quick drive is bang on.

Ok if you driving only short distance you can use your energy all the time.

@@AutoStartTest most people's daily commute in NA is less than 16 miles each way. You guys seem to concentrate on time vs distance but the average is an hr which would indicate similar distances. Even less if you work out the 788 mile average each year.

How is the Toyota CHR a competitor ? This is a plug-in and the Toyota is the standard dumb hybrid only ?

CPS yes you're right but don't forget that Kia Niro is available in two options, Hybrid and Hybrid Plug 🔌 in.

Auto Start Test - not sure how that's relevant when you are "reviewing" a plug-in and you compare it to a non-plug-in" The fact the Kia comes in two (soon to be three) flavours shows how different the Kia is to the Toyota. You'd have been better comparing it to the Prius, at least the power trains would have been comparable.

What you talking about 😂 😂 😂 Niro comper to Prius??? these cars are completely different segment, btw CHR is a competitor for Niro, Niro has the advantage that it additionally has a plug in option.

Why does it not have push to start...?? And uses. Key instead. I've not seen any Niro in the USA that uses a key.

Auto Start Test Maybe so... That's just kind of weird that they would do that. I'm sure both cars are built in Korea. Was the car that you drove a lower trim model? even the base trim in the USA is push button start but perhaps in other markets they offer a even lower trim level to keep the cost down a bit.

Doesn't matter where the car is produced, specifications for all continents is different. Most of the car's in USA has better specifications.

Auto Start Test I understand that I'm just surprised that a feature like push button start which is in every single version of the Niro both hybrid and plug-in hybrid that they would bother to make a different version for one market. I totally understand that emission controls and perhaps safety equipment could varies country to country but push button start seems like a strange one to be different

In Sweden, the top version has keyless system. And the stronger Led headlights. Had mine for three months and I'm very happy with it!
