Excellent video! Very easy to follow. I had the exact same problem. I temporarily removed the damaged rubber thing and just taped over it. It works but I still ordered the replacement part. It cost me 27 EUR with postage. Saved a lot of money. Thanks for posting.

Thanks a lot was very helpful saved me some bucks, and did it a job i could do myselvf. Furthermore the cardealer tried to tell me at first that i could only get the whole tailgate unit, that whould have costed me 3x times the prize of the switch. He did a second look after my complain about the prize and then suddenly he found the switch for me 👍😊

Thanks for this. The rubber on mine has deteriorated and I was just quoted $170 AU just to paint the part (whole assembly) plus 160 for the part plus labour. I will investigate this option.

Hello, Thanks for the instructions, I did everything exactly as described and everything worked very well. But recently, I am facing the following anomaly: sometimes the button does not activate the opening of the trunk immediately, only when I wait a few seconds, sometimes it does not work at all, and in other cases, when I start the engine, it activates itself and I have to get out of the car to properly close the trunk . Can you help me in this situation. It is a lottery, I don't know if I will have access to the trunk when I need it. I checked the button with a measuring device and it works flawlessly and on time. Something else is in the middle and I don't know how to proceed. The car is identical to yours, Kia Rio 2016

The part that you share from Amazon is not the same as what came off my Rio. The one from Amazon only has one power connector when it requires two. I have a 2013 Rio EX.

Excellent video! This same switch works for me or is it compatible for KIA Picanto Ion 2017? While the new switch arrives, can I rave with a traditional or switchable switch? I am checking and I see that it is a micro switch that opens and closes a circuit, it is not resistive. Thank you very much for your comment.

I have a 2013 red EX hatchback, too. The driver's side door latch is starting to wear out and needs to be replaced. Could you do a video on that?

I have jammed the latch by closing the hatch with a bag strap 8n the way. Last time I had to wreck the bag but this is a great bag. Is there any way to save it? The emergency switch doesn't release it.
