I purchased my 2016 SX+ 3.3 seven seater April 1 2015. I now have 40,000kms on it. things I added since new are: Tint to the front door windows. Kia towing package for up to 5000 lbs, ( I pull an 18 ft bowlder and a small enclosed trailer). Areo bars from thule. Michelin snow tires on winter mag wheels. Kia rubber cargo mat (good when the back row seats are down only) Best features: Heated front and rear seats and steering wheel / cooled front seats. Smart cruise control that adapts to the traffic speed in front of you. 360 degrees camera's Worst features: Navigation isn't very intuitive. Maybe that is operator error. Bluetooth connectivity is slow and frustrating with my iPhone (mine is jailbroken so that may be part of the problem). Sunroof labours to close sometimes near the end. This is minor don't cross it off your list because of this. It's fixable. This reviewer was misinformed on a number of features which made the Sorento look bad. He just didn't know the vehicle like I do. For example you need to depress the media button twice to see a menu of accessary options like bluetooth or usb etc. I would highly recommend this vehicle. I have had two A6 Audi's and a TT Audi Roadster and It is very clear to see an influence from Kia's newest designer throughout their redesigned lines. If you don't need to pull a boat, look at the new 2017 Sportage. It does not come in a seven seater either. My friends say I should work for Kia but I would have to work nights so that's not going to happen. feel free to ask me about my 2016SX+ Sorento Mike

The car is great but the gas is slightly expensive on this compared to its competition to be fair. It also depends on how you drive. Personally what Sorento offers, I prefer it over others. If gas is super important, get the new Niro hybrid which beat prius and has an elegant interior.

I have not watched this video yet, but I was thinking about buying a new base model 2016 sorento. I test drove it, and was going to come back on Monday to look at it further/buy it. The salesman wasn't happy enough with that though and told me to take the car home to make sure that I liked it, so I did. I tried out the awd system a little bit on what's basically your diagonal test, but on (dry) grass. I did not make it up the incline, I actually lost power and it was obvious that the system was not working as it was supposed to, or it's a complete junk system. So, I gave up on my test - went to pull back out onto the road and noticed that one of the front tires spun in the rocks and being awd and the fact that I wasn't trying to make it spin was odd. Did some more testing and noticed that the vehicle was now only using one of the front wheels for power, and none of the rear ones. I shut the car off and turned it back on and the system was back to working normally. I decided I did not have the funds for the car so I did not purchase it. I like the vehicle for the most part. I really liked the dual projectors (separate projectors for the highs and lows, not bixenon) - being the base model it only had halogens but they were fairly bright. I can only imagine what the hids would look like. One other thing I didn't like (besides the awd system which seems like crap) - the 'trunk' button on the key fob. If you have the car locked and hit that button, it will unlock the liftgate and then lock the whole car (including liftgate) when you close the liftgate. This is really stupid, it shouldn't automatically lock when you reclose the liftgate. I accidentally locked the only key that I had inside the vehicle, on a Sunday. So, I had to call kia's roadside service and luckily they paid the fee to have a locksmith come open the door - of a vehicle which I did not even own.

CarQuestion I did not purchase the vehicle, I was on a extended test drive. Yes, it was the base model LX.

I have the diesel turbo 2.2. And I am really impressed with the power when in sport mode. This a 2 ton car and the powertrain seems to equal my 3.0l 530i in terms of torgue.

A very complete and knowledgeable review! However, as far as the presentation, while I like your informal style, I think it would help if you spoke a little slower, enunciated clearly and used fewer words. Also, with the video work, especially with the interior closeups, your camera was flailing around and I was getting a little seasick! I would be much better to pan more slowly. And discussing the engine options while driving around made me a little uncomfortable. While all this information is very familiar to you, it is all new to us and takes more time to absorb. Summary: A complete and knowledgeable review, but your presentation needs some work.

thanks for the comment! have you see our more recent vidéo? We are trying to be more stable and the language barrier is improving :) For the discussion while driving around, it's made on a more secure road with no cross traffic, so we are taking safety seriously.

You can get the passenger in from the driver side if you first slide the seat forward and then release the bottom lever to let it fall forward. Works pretty well!
