I’m a 71 year old grandmother with a bad back and arthritis, and I managed to do this myself! Of course, it took me a lot longer than 5 minutes, maybe 20-30 minutes with a pillow under my butt, and in the hot July heat in Savannah, Georgia. But, I did it and I’m so proud of myself! Thank you so much for your video.

@@RetroCarGuy530 I did the job yesterday and was so excited to show my husband when he got home from work! All I've ever done to my car was put gas in, lol. Getting that honeycomb cover back on did make me break a sweat after the 15 min mark. Even with a light on it, it's hard to see where those top tabs go back in and keep your hands out of the way. It's a tight spot. I had the car door open and sat on the floor by the edge of the door with one foot on the ground to keep me from falling out trying to see inside there. I'll bet I impressed a few neighbors! Looked pretty pro. Ha-ha-ha! (I'm 71) Thanks again.
Thank you so much for this wonderful excellent guiding video to help me install my new STP super cabin air filter on Rosie my KIA Soul+! She loves it! Lol! 😄😊💕 A little tricky but got it done thanks to your video. Also, The previous American Tire that put the other filter last year, had it in upside down! Air going up! Ugh! Anyhow, Glad I did it myself this time & did it right! Plus I saved myself 40 bucks! God bless you Brotherman & keep those Positive Vibes alive! 👍😎💕💯

I tried this myself and those plastic tabs on the honeycomb piece broke so easily lol. Now I have to buy a replacement piece.. $30 later lol. Great video though! Very informative

I'm sorry that you had that break on you while performing this task. A couple of people have commented about having a difficult time with the tabs as well. I guess I was lucky with ours when I changed the filter. Thanks for checking out the video!

RetroCarGuy530 Should I just not run my AC until the replacement part gets here?
@RetroCarGuy5304 жыл бұрын
In my opinion, you should be able to continue to use the HVAC system of your car until the replacement part shows up. The HVAC system will be able to pull air from inside without the cover in place, but that shouldn't be a reason to not use the HVAC system. If the cabin air filter will stay in place without the door or if you temporarily add a piece of tape over the opening to hold the filter in place (if needed) then at least the cabin air filter will still be filtering the air directly pulled into the HVAC system before it reaches the blower motor.

My honeycomb door also broke. So had to buy a new one. Now I am trying this for the second time and was still very difficult to remove door but it did not break. When it breaks again - I think I will ignore it. Probably a piece of cardboard will work just fine.
