Kia Soul vs Light Pole - High Speed Crash on I-405 in Orange County, CA

4.17.23 | 1:56 AM | SB I-405 at 133 Tollway | Irvine, CA
Just before 2 A.M. Monday morning, 911 dispatchers received reports that a silver-colored vehicle had veered off of the highway and into a light pole near the SB I-405 Highway and 133 Tollway interchange, near Irvine, CA.
Upon arrival, Orange County firefighters/paramedics rendered aid to a lone male driver and a critically injured dog, possibly a golden retriever, at the scene. The driver of the Kia Soul was transported to a local trauma facility for further medical evaluation. We are sorry to report that the dog did not survive injuries sustained in the mishap.
The cause of the crash is currently under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.

That damage is crazy, we have those poles in West Australia 🇦🇺 they are designed to break off at the bottom for little damage…. He must have been flying, hit the pole then rolled front over back or the other way around to cause that much damage 🤔 hope everyone involved was ok… 🥰🇦🇺
