I have the same car - I came out of a BMW 1 series and I'm really happy with my choice. The 1.6 is whisper quiet and smoothly pulls its weight below 2000 rpm. We're getting around 30mpg too with nearer 40 on a motorway. Cannot fault the car in any way and on a par with BMW quality but better spec by a long way.

How's it held up 3 years later? Any probs, reliable?

@@GeordiLaForgery we only had it 12m we went on to have an Optima GT line S 1.7 DCT then we had a Sportage 4 1.6 mile hybrid DCT. Had each a year. Would highly recommend all of them. The only down side is they aren’t technological leaders in engine or dynamics compared to the Germans and my dealer was ok, not the best by a long shot!

@@GeordiLaForgery I had a new 2017 model on launch for 4 years and was pretty good. Had some warranty issues with the fuel flap not opening on the car and the gearshift surround trim perishing twice and having to be replaced. Other than that, a dream to use. Buying another one soon

first when i saw it i really didnt like it... but after driving it and driving the tuscon i dont know why i started to like it very much ...from the inside it feels more alive from the tuscon i really dont like the tuscon stile inside... even from the front after a couple of time i started to like it even more than the tuscon... its very nice looking and very good car... ( i drive new cars in my day work...) i recommend it after couple of times of seeing it from the front especialy the gt line looks wonderful.

Some have not bought because of radical new front end and tiger grill which is now a feature on all KIA cars but having had a 2.0 manual GT line on order since beginning of July and still awaiting with a possible 18 to 20 week wait time , this informs me that Demand is High , KIA are struggling to get them out in the 8 week advised delivery slot time . expect around 12 to 16 weeks at least if you are after a 2.0 Diesel GT line . or any GT line for that matter , the 1.6 petrol will be available quicker as they are not the sought after model I Have not taken delivery yet and we are into week 11 now and still no delivery date at dealers , the wait is mainly on the hugely successful good looking GT line and a factory shut down for two weeks holiday . I can see KIA having another good seller on their hands at this rate . one thing I will say is the Australians get a much better equipped car for the same money as a UK GT line with extras including sunroof , auto opening rear door , Automatic for lower cost than a UK manual , auto park assist , cordless phone charging , full size spare wheel , Air cooled seats , these are not included in our UK spec GT line model but the Australian Platinum model at 46000 Aus dollars converted to sterling is around £26900 is much better equipped and better value and it also sports the GT line bumpers and badge . Are the UK motoring public getting a bit ripped off by KIA why have one spec for UK and another better spec for the Australians both right hand drive cars ?

Great looking car but disappointing mpg in that 1.6 turbo petrol, I've got a 2017 mustang ecoboost with 317 hp and i get 37mpg driving 10 miles to work lol, think the diesel would be the better option in the kia sportage for fuel efficiency, getting one in 2 years time think diesel one will suit my needs better, good review and really good looking suv love that red colour 👌👍👍
