Thanks for your video on this , I removed the air box tube first after watching your video, then undid all the electric plugs , the two fuel lines , then undid the battery box front retainer mover the battery forward, then removed the ecu ( I did disconnect the battery , I can easily reprogram the radio etc. then I was able to access on my car three bolts holding that bracket on. Takeimg the ecu off really made a difference, next time instead of 60 minutes working my way through the challenges, I think I would have it done in 30 minutes. Appreciate you paving the way for me to have a go 😂👍

Seen it done where battery was removed. Then ecu just unclips and put out of the way. Access to fuel filter is easy then.

Hi John Thanks for watching ;) I generally try not to remove the battery unless absolutely necessary as this will at the very least reset the clock in the vehicle. It could also, depending on the vehicle, mess with the radio and cause issues with one touch electric windows. However, if this is not an issue then following your suggestion could definately be easier.

You just don't need to fil it with diesel before. It does prime itself by switch on and off few times before starting.

Hi @InderVirk Thanks for confirming this is the case for the Kia Sportage. I do a lot of different filter changes for all models of cars and its difficult to keep up with which ones are self priming and which are not. That is why I generally try to introduce as little air into the system wherever possible.

Hi , very nice video . Do you know if it`s necessary to bleed the system if the fuel rail pipe from the HP pump to the rail is removed temporarily ? I`m trying to clean the intake manifoldand the pipe is on my way , so I will have to dismantle it after I lower the pressure.

@JohnDoe-eg3xf Hi JohnDoe If it's only a short section of pipe it should be ok, engine may stumble and possibly cut out but a small amount of turning over should pull the diesel through. If it's a longer section of pipe you'd probably get away with it but would be advisable to bleed it through. Assuming you're completely removing the pipe from the vehicle, if it's just one end being disconnected and pulled to one side I would plug the connection with a grommet and that should be fine just to reconnect and go. Thanks for watching😀

@@carjunkieschannel thank you very much for your reply. You are right, I could disconnect only the upper end of the pipe and keep the fuel loss and air into the system to a minimum. I did not think of that.

It would be easier, and saver, to remove the battery.
