It has to be cleaned every 50,000 km. The damper actuator regularly flies off the hinges and they simply stop working. The CR Bosch fuel system of this power unit is highly reliable, but only if you don’t pour anything into the tank, and this is especially true for Euro 6 diesel engines. Often they only complain about the failure of the fuel pressure regulator and booster pump. All versions of this engine are equipped with a particulate filter and it can be a hassle. An increase in the level of lubrication indicates a failure in its regeneration, which means it has already become clogged. Quite often, fuel can enter the oil due to a leaky fuel pump seal. For all U-series diesels, timing chains do not differ in resource and stretch to 100,000 km, but for a 1.7-liter engine they go longer and usually change them to 200,000 km. It is worth noting that with a strong stretch, the chain can jump and the valves will bend. Of the other complaints on specialized forums, only relatively frequent lubricant leaks are worth noting. Also here it is necessary to regularly clean the EGR valve and throttle flap.
