The trouble with these kind of reviews and reviewers, is they know nothing about how well or badly the car is made mechanically. They just go on about the features and general driving experience, which anyone could find out from a brief testdrive when they are looking around dealerships. If they had extensive experience with working on the repair of these makes and brands of car, then they could impart some actual insight into whether something is worth buying.

It isn't 1985. There are no bad cars. How often do you see cars broken down on the side of the road due to mechanical failure? Apart from Ferraris and Porsches, of course.
@EgoShredder5 жыл бұрын
@@davidjboland It's a fact that manufacturers use a lot more plastic, whereas in the past they used metal for the same key components. It's a fact that cars although more reliable in the early part of their lifespan, tend to later prematurely wear out. Talk to many mechanic friends who work on these modern cars of the last ten years say, and they will give you a more accurate assessment of their quality! I doubt many people will be driving these modern cars after 15 years+.

so you're asking the reviewer to jump in a time machine set to the future to provide a review of long term use - because that's the only way you're going to get that sort of information on a brand new car. If you are interested in long term use, then there are plenty of owner reviews of older cars for you to discover on the Internet.
@yanxiangzhang44895 жыл бұрын
You are right. Consumers care the quality, maintenance and repair cost. They can decide depreciation after buy. The simply review(have a look around and introduce basic information which you can get from dealer shop) can't help too much

We have just bought a 68 plate GTS line petrol in this colour. Issues for me: Exhaust back box very noisy, this is due to faulty baffles in box. Been told it’s a Warranty issue Kia are aware of. The revering screen picture is of poor quality compared with a Ford Kuga we had.I test drove two exact same models just to see if it’s was only my vehicle at fault but they were all the same. I love the driving position. It’s very comfortable, good feed back through the steering. The headlights are really good. Generally I feel it’s a well designed car.

I´m from Spain, and i am a little confused: Why the word "vintage" is pronounced like , but this "sportage" is ? It should be like , no? Anyway, here in Spain we go our own way, and we called it XDDD
@robertcook25725 жыл бұрын
Good question! Modern English has borrowed or stolen thousands of words from scores of languages. Some of them arrived so long ago that their pronunciation has been anglicised; vintage being a good example. 'Sportage' is a recent arrival and a brand name so we pronounce it as we have been told to. English must be very tricky to learn as one spelling can have many pronunciations. For example, the formation 'ough' can be pronounced in five different ways: bough, rough, cough, through, borough - all different. Anyway, I'm sure your English is much better than my Spanish - which is non-existent!

Sportage is a name made up by Kia. Vintage is a real word. But there are a few loan words from French, like décolletage and potage, which have similar sounding endings to the Sportage name in standard English (less so in American English).

I wish they would make a PHEV (Plug in Hybrid Electric Vehicle) WITH economical diesel. Oh, make is comfortable for shocking Australian roads. 2 litre diesel is too big. The 1.6 diesel sounds good, but the gearbox is a silly introduction....WHY is KIA doing this-it’s almost as bad as the CVT! Oh KIA what are you doing!!! You used to have a great head in your shoulders. A 1.6 flat torque curve diesel with a PHEV and ordinary automatic gear box with 8 forward gears is the GO. I’m almost crying after hearing Kia doing this. They have gone off the rails in a big way and very quickly! What, had there been a recent management change? So so disappointed. It doesn’t take much to go from Hero to Zero, but Kia you are now Zero. I hope they do not do this to the Sorrento as well.
