It was customary in olden days for Arabs to repeat the same names in their children, such as, Asmaa, Umm Kulsoom, Fatima, Zainab). So, there were many people who would have the same names. Umm Kulthum bint Abi Bakr's mother was Habeebah bint Kharijah bin Zayd and not Asmaa bint Umais. Thus, she was only a half sister to Muhammad ibn Abi Bakr and she didn't go to the house of Ali upon the death of her father (Hz. Abu Bakr) because it was not her mother (Habeebah bint Khaarijah) who got married with Ali. Asmaa bint Umais married Ali ibn Abi Talib and went into the household of Ali ibn Abi Talib together with her son Muhammad ibn Abi Bakr. Hz. Ali used to care for her like his own daughter as he loved Muhammad ibn abi Bakr like his own sons. This is the beauty and magnanimity of Ali's nature and character. Besides the fact that an ummati cannot marry Sadaat, there was a huge difference of age between these two people. In actual, Hz. Umm Kulsoom bint e Ali got married to Hz. Jaffar Tayyar's younger brother Hz. Auon. She sacrificed a lot for Ahl al Bait a.s and was present in Kerbala and then the grand daughters of Rasool Allah saww were tortured, arrested and imprisoned in Shaam along with their small children on orders of yazid ibn muawiya. Whereas, Bibi Zainab bint e Ali s.a was married to Hz. Jaffar Tayyar's son, Abdullah ibn Jaffar. Hz. Ali recited the Seeghah e Nikkah for both.
