I don't know why only actresses in bollywood are seen as representing "india" for women in cinema gala. Come on, jewelry or cosmetic brand ambassadors are not considered as representation of anything cinema related in India. At least film companion among others should put the spotlight on Indian films or films with Indian actors that are actually in competition at cannes. There is an indian filmmaker Payal Kapadia and her film is actually in the competition, how about promoting her film and the actresses.

Are u secretly impressed by American English? Let me break the bubble for you. Having lived in US, I can tell u that American English sucks. It is not a hallmark standard of English. What you should have been saying instead is British English that is unadulterated English since English is from the Great Britain. Like I shouldn’t have to go anywhere else than india to check quality of Sanskrit, the hallmark of English will always be British English. Even the French don’t speak the finest English (much worse than an average Indian does), but Indians are expected to speak it flawlessly since we grow up speaking it and it is the medium of instruction in most schools. Knowing eng language well is not a sign of colonial slavery rather it is sheer smartness to learn it proficiently even as a second language.
