Fun fact: if you use the “vanilla psycasts expanded” mod, you can unlock an ability in the protector tree called “regrow limbs”. This ability puts the target in a coma that lasts a single day and, after a relatively short amount of time, all missing organs and limbs will regrow and can be harvested again!
