First step to building a kick drum module for my diy modular synth, search net for design (see below) then build breadboard circuit. Analogue Bass Drum Workshop: helsinkisounde...

That kick sounds quite good! Even though it's a rather simple circuit, I would be proud of myself for making it - every breadboard instrument that functions is cause for celebration. I'm sorry your drum machine broke though. I hope you can get it working again.

Fantastic! I just found your channel last night and I’m really enjoying it! This sounds very good! I’ll try to build it soon. I have a channel as well where I make circuits. This will be my first drum circuit.

Welcome to the channel. This kick drum does sound good, it now has a permanent home in my modular synth. Glad to have inspired you to have a go at building it, that is one of the main aims of my channel, to get people building their own synth/noise modules.

I doubt that you are going to read this but I can try to ask. I started building the circuit following the instruction in the link you provided. The problem is, the 4.5 v power rail is instead 8.34 v and I honestly have no idea how to solve it. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

In the workshop instructions the Vref (4.5V) is generated using the two 10k resistors (R13 & R14) as a voltage divider. These should be connected in series with one end to the 9V power rail and the other end to ground. The centre point between the two resistors should then give you approximately half the power supply voltage ie 4.5V. They then buffer this voltage with an op-amp to stop it being affected by loading from the rest of the circuit. I hope this helps you solve your problem. Do check out my other videos on this kick drum circuit as the result is well worth the effort.

@@CuSiSound Thanks for replying. I checked my components and one of the resistors was way off the 10 k value. I'm going to change it today. And you are right, this really looks worth the effort!

Trigger clicking/plopping can be solved by replacing the 10nf cap into a bigger one like 100nf. When the triggering is the descrete one with two transistors that is..
