Different style different concept. In Karate the start of a front kick is knee strike( what the TKD male on the video says as raise your knee) then swing up your foreleg.; and in Front thrust kick once your foreleg is swing-up thrust it to the target. In roundhouse kick. the Japanese uses their instep as impact point for sports combat but uses the ball of the foot as impact for self defense.

TKD is really now a sport combat. Pauline says the round house kick is to kick the head. In Japanese Karate especially the Okinawans do not really kick for the head but at waist level to the bladder area, floating ribs or kidney area; then to the lower peripherals. High kick will give away a slip gap on the groin. In karate the in-step is used for sparring or kumite for safety but in actual combat uses the ball of the foot. The man with Pauline said that in front kick you first let you knee up but it was not executed as knee strike because this is the start of front kick in karate. Different way really.

The tornado kick and spinning is the same thing. But that real name of the kick is jumping turning 45 kick(in taekwondo). and btw its not a roundhouse kick because they're targeting the body. Just want to share that lol 😂

Roundhouse usually tagets the Head not the Body. That's a 45 kick with a twist.
