Why i never know that. So you can pull your boat with dolphins, and the airplane with seagulls?

Where did you pickup the two dog setup and how did you go about training them for this? We have two mixed breed rescue pups, on is 30% husky, (looks similar to the dog off leash near the end) and the other has newfoundland, terrier, chow as predominant. Both love to pull, if given the opportunity. Have just started researching kick sleds and kick bikes. Looks like this could be a blast for the dogs and me. Any insight is greatly appreciated.

So I’ve been researching this too. You need an x back harness, I’m from Mexico so I got mine from some dude who did it for like 15 bucks online, in the us it’s more expensive so try to get it right, there are many videos on KZbin on how to get correct measurements but since they are mi breed they maybe won’t fit a regular one so check that out You also need a tow line that should have at least part bungee line, I got one from a local manufacturer as well, a small local business run by fans of bikejoring. You get a line with an elastic inside and you tie a knot to get more or less elasticity from the line so that it’s not harsh on you or the dog and save from accidents they sell one on Amazon under “bikejoring line” Lastly you need an antenna or attachment which prevents you from getting the line tangled on the bike, you can get a noodle too that fits around the line and makes it too thick to be able to enter the wheel but it still is not 100% safe I think You May optionally need an attachment to grab the tow line into the bike frame, never put it into the steering handlebar, it should be always on the frame

To teach the dogs well I’m still on it but you need to encourage them to pull and praise, they will love it because they get to do what you don’t let them so it will be fast. Try to associate the x back harness with pulling by not letting them do so on walks. Also dogs poop after running so either make them poop beforehand or be prepared for an emergency break because they don’t know they should move away from the way to poop Commands are “mush” or go for pulling, yeeh for right hah for left, a command for slow or stop pulling and a command for complete stop Also come yeeh is u turn to the right and come hah to the left As to how to teach them try to do them on walks and use treats or for example walk them with the x harness and allow to pull or run when they get it right, say no and restrict when they get it wrongly and show the way

Also you can get a leash thingy to get two dogs together and it attaches to the tow line in the middle, you can attach them in both the collar and harness for extra protection If you get one dog to learn how to do it he can be the leader and other dogs will follow because of the pack instinct, they won’t want to be left behind and will learn the commands from the leader easily

5 months is still young for pulling. 12 months is when they are almost fully developed
@wendyhere72044 жыл бұрын
Yikes. It's too late now, but for future reference: Do not do this! A good guideline is that an adult 25 kg husky should pull no more than 50 kg by himself. You shouldn't start putting him in a line of dogs until about 10 months old and most definitely not let him pull by himself. He's not fully developed yet and starting too young or too heavy can cause severe problems when he grows older.

eek a bit young! I waited for my dog to be 15 months before he started pulling me on the skateboard :)

This looks so cool! We have 2 husky puppies (5 months and 9 weeks) and would love to teach them pull sledge in winters. I've been wondering what to do then during summers and this seems fun! How do you start training a husky for mushing? With our older one we try to remember say go, right, left and stop when we go for walks but how do you teach them then to slow down or go faster and what more needs to be thaught?
@maxthesiberianhusky68486 жыл бұрын
i start really slow with puppies :) as you do on walks, teach them left, right, slow, gogogo etc. :) then when they are about 6-9 months (depends on how well they are developed) i start putting on a harness and jog with them. then i start slowly with skateboard og bike :) when they are about a year old they should be ready for kickbiking or bikejoring with more speed. yes its definitely so much fun! but remember to watch the temperature. i never run mine when its over 15 degrees celcius. good luck !! :D
