Same here just put in 4 Kicker KSS65 components in front and rear. Sounded good but once I sound proofed all 4 doors inside and out it made a very noticeable difference. Going to go with the HS10 powered sub soon as I figure out where to mount it

Nice subwoofer enclosure .... one thing about factory subwoofer enclosure. Is that the subwoofer box has been designed for maximum output for subwoofer ... Buying a prefabricated box . It may or may not sound muddy or you will get port noise. And you can damage the subwoofer ....

Thanks! You have to tune the amps and properly set your gains. This sounds far better than the factory one with a matched amp tuned properly.

Rattle the car? Do you mean when the body park shake and shutter? Arguably. At what power wattage does that happen? I want to do a custom audio job for my sedan. I want the strongest bass, without the rattle. Any idea what that could be?

kicker says the top depth of this box is 4 3/8" did you verify it is 4 3/4? this is a difference of a half-inch, and would make or break my install.. srsly 4 3/8" is a tight fit.. can you measure it and verify!?

Probably not. But it all depends on the type of output you're looking for. Sealed is typically more accurate, and tighter, has a more even bass response. Ported/vented/slotted, are typically more boomy, usually louder on a select frequency range, but you get more output.

@@pablolopez1967 I have absolutely nothing negative to say about the JVC--it was amazing, however it costs $1399 new nowadays. I have the iDoing android HU now and in the next week or so will be releasing 3 videos on it that I've been working on. I can buy three of these for the amount of the JVC so that's definitely something to consider. Not that I have anything to complain about regarding the sound, but I will be using an in line Amp anyways.

The seat does not have to be down. Low frequencies are not directional. My system sounded great as long as Amp gains are set properly.

Idk I like my bass….I did a temp setup with 4 Skar Audio RPX 6.5 speakers and left the factory tweets installed, removed that shitty Bose Sub from the deck and ordered my an Under the Seat Powered Subwoofer from NVX (it’s ported)…..my real build is going to be Skar Audio 8s (3) in a ported box, Crossfire C5 Speakers and Skar Audio Amps

i need your help, my amp is alpine pdxv9 it say its rated for the subwoofer 500 rms on both 2ohms and 4ohms same power which ohm subwoofer should i get?

2ohm will be louder, but consume more power although less cleanly than an otherwise equal 4ohm sub. If you want the best quality sound at a cheaper price go with 4ohm. If you want the loudest that you can get out of your system while sacrificing a little bit of cleanliness in sound go with the 2ohm.

Not even. Cant get loud enough, can't produce enough pressure with that set up. And lower frequencies are much safer than higher frequencies. Those upper mid and high frequencies are what are what causes hearing loss if played loud and long enough.
