THANK YOU!!! tgcf is definitely celebrated as peak romance, rightfully so! But so many people fail to acknowledge that tgcf isn't mainly about love, it's also about faith, devotion, AND about overcoming grief and vengeful fantasies, about becoming the best version of yourself and living in harmony with your conscience. That's what I see when I see Xie Lian, that's what makes him such a powerful character, and it's also why, to me, hualian isn't even what's best about this novel: it's everything surrounding hualian. Meanwhile, I can confidently state that 2ha IS about love. There is so much going on in this novel, sad stuff, fucked up stuff, funny stuff, but I swear, to me it really feels like this is a novel meant to talk about a love story, while diving into other themes too (I'm thinking about the social commentary on the treatment of the rich towards the poor, for example. We saw it in Mo Ran's childhood with his mom). Lots of people focus only on the tragic and very, very heavy stuff going on in 2ha, while glossing over all the romance and kindness and tenderness going on. I'm so so so happy Kictor and Stitch pointed this out!

Seven seas version will have 11 volumes to cover everything up, but just sharing some info: originally in the webnovel, 2ha has 3 books. Each one of them it's easy to identify, cause book 1's titles will always start with "this venerable one - something..." When we change to book 2 the titles will always start with "Shizun - something"... chapter 179 being is the only exception (Wanning). The darker book is the third one. I guess we will reach it by VOL 7. The titles will start with the location the events are happening in the story, for example Mount Jiao, Mount Longxue... etc. So... when you see 'Mount Jiao - ' in the title, get ready lmao... GET SUPER READY.

I just finished reading it. Then I came straight to this video.I was not expecting Mo Ran so be so romantic. That look in my eyes scene Awww~~~What do I have to do to be Chu Wanning in that moment🤣 I worry for Mo Ran's mental state. The tear as he kisses the "sleeping" Chu Wanning - Come on, this trope. If he is still there in the morning, I'll be surprised. Now that they have started to bring up how Mo Ran was able to go back in time, I'm starting to think it was not out of malicious intent. Usually, someone would go back in time to try to stop the tyrant from becoming evil by killing him, but Mo Ran seems to have going pretty smoothly (relatavly speaking). At first, I thought the fake Gouchen had something to do with it, but that story line did not go where I was expecting. Xu Shuangling on the other hand did hint that he'd seen something that as far as we now only Taxian-jun from the other timeline could do, but they didn't seem to care much about Mo Ran and noone tried to expose him. So how? I'm thinking now perhaps Mo Ran's second chance has something to do with a ceartain someone who is having steamy dreams about their other life together. Didn't Xu Shuangling also say something about how Chu Wanning shouldn't die. I don't know, I'm not good at articulating theories, but somehow I feel Chu Wanning present or alternate is the center of everything going on intentional and not.

Well now I’m in a quandary. I’d stopped reading right after the farming arc bc ppl told me that was the last time they were really happy and I genuinely can only take so much pain and heartbreak. But wtf, that wolf riding and fishing scene sounds adorable! And I know there’s the confession scene… I’m 8 mins into this video and now don’t know whether to stop and pick the book up again relatively spoiler free, or to finish the video first so I can gauge the pain level and then decide whether I can handle the book and feel safe proceeding with it. Mo Ran and Chu Wanning personally don’t go through too much pain themselves in this book (and the ending is very sappy) if that helps haha. Other characters however go through some agonizing scenes 😖

I finish read the webnovel and manage not to cry in front of my family. It’s incredibly sad that people think ERHA is bad. Honestly, it’s BARELY problematic if you pay attention. I won’t elaborate because spoilers. They don’t understand it at all. Understandably it’s not done yet done but I think the hints are PRETTY obvious that Chu Wanning loved Mo Ran just as much in the past life. Without saying my opinion outright, ask yourself this: what would you do if the love of your life has gone irreparably insane because of a choice you made and your inability to communicate and you feel so unworthy and you think the one you love hates you? Also, Mo Ran is also bawling by the tree because he’s having the realization that he hurt and tormented the ONLY person that loved him and that he treated him like absolute trash (in HIS mind) and the regret of his horrific mistake is eating him alive. 😭

I haven't read too much farther than this, but my theory is that Mo Ran isn't Mo Ran. To explain my thought process a bit, Wanning has been having dreams of Emperor Mo Ran. Wanning has an extra soul/spirit/thing. What if the time damention gate thing pulled part of previous Wanning into current winning, the dreams are from a very weak ghost possessing him, except the ghost is himself. The same thing happened to Mo Ran, the spirit of Emporor Mo Ran possessed current mo ran. Except that ghost is much more powerful and is better able to take over to the point where Mo Ran isn't even aware that his memories aren't even his. They are alternate dimension mo ran. So mo ran might have an extra soul too. Does that make sense?

I finished volume 5 last night at 5:30am despite needing to be up for work at 8:30am lmao. the number of times I was scrunching up my face and going "oh my god!!!" with glee during the whole confession sequence... ugh it was so good. when I bought the first 6 volumes a month ago, I was flipping through them and saw the line about "the most beautiful man in the world" reflected in Mo Ran's eyes, and I fake gagged a bit thinking "oh god, this might be too sappy for me..." cut to a month later and I'm reading it like "YES HE IS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL MAN IN THE WORLD AND HE NEEDS TO KNOW THAT" 🤍🖤
