More over, they understands that they have a problem that they can't solve on their own and they decide to ask for help totally open to recieve feedback and act acordingly. They really wanted Indi became a part of the family. And that is prizeless. In other cases, Victoria wanted that goal due to the relationship was broken between owner and dog. In this case, it was the other way around. Victoria only had to give them the tools and they pull it off.

Actually little children, at this point in their lives, are mentally quite similar to dogs. That's why many methods of training obedience that work with dogs, can help you to keep them in check. That's why I find it so ridiculous when people spoil their dogs because they are their babies to them. Well...if you let your small child do whatever they want, they also will become brats, so why should it be different with dogs? :')

I'm not surprised Victoria is very good with kids ... she's a dog trainer. The methods of educating a four-year-old and training a dog are very similar. That may sound weird, but if you think about it, it's true. You teach them boundaries, reinforce good/desirable behaviour, and gently correct mistakes or behaviour that will get them into trouble. The methods of communication differ, of course, but the system is nearly the same. Dogs are a lot like little kids: cute, playful, sometimes naughty ... and they understand way more than we give them credit for, hehe.

I generally agree but we don't use punishments anymore You look for the unmet need that is causing the behaviour and don't rile them up or reinforce behaviours you don't want Kids need more freedom and communication and you don't want a kid to be a well behaved dog so some things are different But it's generally very similar

Such nice family, I supposed they were just a little lost with their dog and didn't knew what to do. Im glad Victoria has came in and taught them how to train their dog to curb his behaviour problems. I love how kids were playing with the dog and how they engaged with Indie while training him, it was a sweet sight indeed!
@abbies18605 жыл бұрын
The dog hasn't got behaviour problems its the kids messing about which makes the dog want to play if he does it more it might lead to the dog not being playful anymore he will be seriously injured so I say it's the humans fault for causing the dog to have a big case of hyper behaviour
@vbs42575 жыл бұрын
Great observation! As a trainer, I try to help people understand why their dogs do certain things so they can best address those issues. Dogs don't automatically know how to behave in our world, and dogs like Indiana, with SO much energy, especially need help channeling that energy in productive ways. I agree - getting the kids involved in his training helped in mending their relationship with him, and taught everyone valuable lessons.

@Molly McConnell so its like: im a kid and im “delicate” so im gonna annoy the sh* t out of my dog and get it to feel unconfortable every single second of its existance Trust me on this one my sister has a dog and she treats her like a god but some dogs have different personalities than others u might have the happy and cute doggo or have an unconfortable sad-looking dog just like my sister But what i wanted to say was that u should treat your pet just like you would treat your friend but better, not treat it like its a toy cuz we're “superior” and in some cases we look like the “dumbest ” animals

Being 6 years old is no excuse AT ALL to bully a pet 24/7 and violently "play" with him. I bet that each time blood is pulled he fully blames the dog and will lie about his own actions that caused it (knowing that the parent didn't see what he himself did). They need to keep a close eye on that kid, otherwise he's going to become a society's problem later on. Mark my words.

I work with animals. The amount of times I have had people ask “ is this breed good with kids “ amazes me. It’s not if the breed is good with your kid- it’s if your KID is good with the breed/ dog. Train your kids 😂 period. I have firsthand seen a golden retriever ( labeled friendliest dog with kids ) nip a child because it was tugging on her ears and tail. Now I socialize and desensitize my huskies- but ANY and every dog can and will bite when pushed to its limits.

@jocarless75264 жыл бұрын
Shay Rose 100% agree with you. I work with dogs, too, and I currently have 8 of my own, various breeds, ranging from a Doberman to a Chihuahua, and all of them absolutely adore children. This is because I don't allow kids to be rough with them, and if a child asks to pet them I always say yes, then show them how to do it nicely. ("Of course you may, he'd love that! He especially likes it when you do this...") I train them all to accept being grabbed/touched everywhere, just in case, but they shouldn't have to put up with constant mauling. I always tell people the same as you - all dogs are good with kids, as long as your kids are good with dogs!
