at 5:10 there is an alternate area you can take when the pirate ship surfaces. just have pit on the middle to far left side of the screen. when the pirate ship comes up, it will force pit into the "sea".

I don't know if chugga ever showed it off but after replaying this chapter myself I realized that in the part where the pirate ship emerges (5:03), there are actually two paths to it. One where you just miss the ship (shown in the video) and pit goes after it. And another where pit is forced into the galactic sea by the ship. I don't know what triggers it but I assume it depends on the position of pit near the time like in Pandora's Labranth of Deceit

The fact they called this “The Space-Pirate Ship” and featured Komaytos that are clear reference to Metroid is actually so cool. In fact, even their names in Japanese, コメト (Kometo), are derived from Kometoroido (コメトロイド), which means "Little Metroid". The four switches puzzle for the chest is actually a “find the right one”. I don’t know if it changes, but it seems to be the rightmost switch that opens the way to the chest. Hitting the switches afterwards does nothing. If you lure the clubberskull into the room before the final room that leads to the boss, you can juke it and lock it out in that room, meaning you can proceed as normal. It’s nice if you don’t want to fight it.

if you have a good ranged weapon, or having trouble getting some damage on the boss, then i suggest having the reflect barrier power. most of its attacks are ranged, so using reflect barrier helps you deal damage to him. the mega laser power helps here too so long as you are not too far away.

I don't know if many people know this, including you, Chugga, but Pit can actually end up "under" the Galactic Sea when the Space Pirate Ship makes it's first appearance in the flying half of the level. I haven't figured out the specifics, but it seems to happen either a) if Pit is on the bottom-half of the screen when the ship leaps out of the water or b) if you don't defeat the Belunka that spits out all the Gyrazers before the ship appears. Try it out and see for yourself, and if it works, record it for us!
