This is my favorite kid rock song. My father played in constantly during the divorce. Both my parents are addicts, and music is what helps me father cope. He’s been clean 4 years, and I still catching him listening to this on the hard days. He thinks of this as “his anthem”

Kid rock being real is not rare. Quite the opposite. That's why hes a legend to his fans.

@@justinbondar2491 Maybe that was a mischaracterion. I think that he plays a role with his music. It's common knowledge that he talks about growing up in the ghetto but in reality, he's the son of a car salesman from the suburbs.
@justinbondar24913 жыл бұрын
@@chriswaltman5313 its common knowledge to his fans that hes been open and honest about being from romeo, Michigan, the son of a car dealership owner. He moved to mount Clemens, "the hood" to dj hip hop shows at 15yo. He ended up living there for years until he blew up and toured with ice cube and too short. Hes written songs about all this since 1989. His 1988 ep album cover is a pic of him wearing a cowboy hat riding a tractor. He grew up on an apple orchard. It's been in his lyrics from the start. His story is taken out of context and spun to denigrate him because of his politics. Hes revered for being open and real.

He has been through so much since he was 17. In his early 20's I believe is when he was raising 5 kids that were not his by his son's mother. Then she lied to him about a child is his and the little girl wasn't his. He raised his son with the help of his mother and sister. You know how people think rich kids get it all well Kid Rock taught his son to work for what he wants to achieve. I will not mention the company his son works for but he has work ethics like his father, he makes music and raising his daughter. I will not go into the marriage to Pamela Anderson because it is just too much. All I can say is I have been a fan of his since day 1 before he was even known and the women he has in his life mess with his heart way too much.

186 days clean today!!! What a roller coaster it's been, but my worst day clean has been way better than my best day blasted. I don't want it back. I was weak, unable to manage a simple thought. Now I'm a fucking weapon with my mind. But I must remember that it happened to me once, and it can happen again. Never forget. If I'm being honest, it feels like it was a dream, and I was merely spectating another person's life. I know that sounds crazy, but it's a 6 year haze that came and went, and I am still putting things together that happened, that I was in attendance for. Don't travel that path, ever. It's like the best love you ever had, but a forbidden love that never works out. I can't explain it. I just know I don't want that shit back.
