There was an interview with Haden Blackman where he revealed what the force unleashed 3 may have been about. Vader and Starkiller would've been trapped on a perilous planet together with no help and they would've had to work together to survive; an open world co-op experience, so a quite different setup to the last 2 games.Vader and Starkiller would also be reluctantly working together to stop one of the Emperor’s plots that threatens to replace Vader; I think Vader promises to spare Juno if he helps.Sounded intriguing, I like how the emperor is always trying to stab Vader in the back because of his failure on Mustafar.

Force unleashed 2 was the game that really hooked me to the eu. It was the first 16+ game i ever played, so not only that was a big event for my 10 or 11 old self, but it was also the first full star wars game i have ever played. Definately love the force unleashed series :)

Also the novelisation mentiones Maul as a sith killed on Naboo, despite him being alive during the clone wars (that also depends on the canonjcity of tcw in legends, it is a grey area and it will stay that way unless legends is continued, so i belive some parts of it that don't contradict CWMP are canon, including living Maul). Those are minor contradictions that a huge fictional universes alway have, the new canon also has them despite being smaller than the eu for now. Also we have a contradiction in dark empire, where palpatine says his body in rotj was already a clone which we know is not the case. In my opinion they could have cut out these little parts in the later prints of the novel and the comic, becouse they are irrelevant and small. But they didn't do that and that's not a problem, we just have to treat those few lines s non canon. If someone uses these contradictions to say that they were the reason not to continue the eu even as legends continuity, they are just stupid.

I loved the unique TIE variant that showed up in the comic for TFU2. Wings sorta like a Defender, Ion Cannons, Hyperdrive, and 2 warhead launchers like a TIE Heavy Bomber from Galactic Battlegrounds. I always thought it might be the competing bid for the contract that went to Cygnus to make the Xg1 Star Wing Assault Gunboat (From the X-Wing flight simulator.) Hyperspace, Ion Cannons, two warhead pods.

Force Unleashed 3 was The Force Awakens... geez Matt Starkiller became a planet that blew up other planets before blowing up. We’ll see if he is resurrected in The Last Jedi. Didn’t read the books, yet, but the games were fun. Second game was too short though.

I agree with the Force Unleash 1 comic. It's just page from page of the story, in small different details. The only big seller is that we find out, right before everyone meet on Kashyyyk, Juno and Bail went to Corellia to Proxy body. And he explains everything about Galen history, that was never touched on that they knew that much of him in the books, and games. By away Matt, Force Unleash 2 mentions the first attack early on Ylesia, which happened in the Han Solo Trilogy: Book 3. In the novel, a reference was made about a skirmish over Ylesia. In Rebel Dawn, the skirmish happened on Ylesia with the Corellian Resistance rescuing bunch of slaves. The Hutts that own the planet are sided with the Empire. Both the skirmish in Rebel Dawn and The Force Unleash 2 story in the novel are both one year before the Battle of Yavin. I believe Force Unleash 3 should end where Starkiller and Juno abandons the Rebels and they go on to live their own life, away from the whole war, and become outcasts; and that explains why Starkiller is never mention in the EU. I don't remember Shaak Ti ever getting killed off in the novelization of Revenge of the Sith. They left that off scene of her fate.

Holy crap! You're at The Force Unleashed already! You're definitely making good progress. I loved these stories, in all of their forms. Of course I want to see a resolution to the story, but I would also like to see other stories about Starkiller as he grew up under Vader's tutelage. Perhaps even a story about how he came to be called Starkiller would be cool (I have my own idea for that one). I also wondered why George Lucas didn't take the opportunity to tell the backstories of TFU characters in The Clone Wars. It would have been a golden opportunity to tell the tales of Kento Marek, Rohm Kota, Kazdan Paratus, and Maris Brood. perhaps this was a sign that Lucas was not as involved with the Clone Wars project as Filoni had led everyone to believe? Just a thought.

The Starkiller in TFU II is a clone as confirmed by some scenes in the xbox 360 version of the game that show Vader showing the dark apprentice (a clone of starkiller that doesn't have the original's attraction to the light side of the force) the body of the original Starkiller.

the wii and ps2 version of the game is different than the 360 ps3 and pc versions theres like 10 Extra levels in the wii version starkiller even goes to the jedi temple three or 4 times he fights the spirits of darth desolous, darth phobos, and the 3rd time he goes to temple he fights the spiritof a jedi and kills him he finds out that its his father its a powerful scene. i recomend this version of the game its very different.

I'm, not a huge fan of the main plot of TFU 1 or 2, but I do like the characters. If Galen/Starkiller was toned down to just a rogue Inquisitor, and didn't literally found the rebellion so Palpatine could drag them to the Death Star to show off his schlong.
@DIEGhostfish3 жыл бұрын
Yeah Vader's escape was almost certainly going to kill Starkiller and Kota.

I feel like George's involvement in TFU is slightly overstated. He gave out basics, and did reviews and stuff, and okayed the moichendizing. But I think the story wasn't fully his idea or something he ever saw as canon. He didn't rate it the same way he did TCW.
@stevenyarnell5 жыл бұрын
In my honest opinion, Starkiller in TFUII is NOT a clone! Why not? First off, Obi-Wan was told in AOTC (Ep. 2) that the clones were made in HALF the time. Which, to my knowledge, is like 9 years. A real improvement in the eyes of the Kaminoans at the time! Second, I'm not too keen on a clone takin' Galen Marek's babe! Just doesn't sit well in my mind. And thirdly, wouldn't the Force signature be different? I mean, come on. Let's be honest, Matt! Kota KNEW it was Galen Marek/Starkiller! He would've acted a bit differently towards Galen, otherwise. Like doubting to himself in third person.
@wren82533 жыл бұрын
Kota’s confidence in Galen is what makes me believe it’s the original who was programmed to believe he was the clone.

Jurassic Park #1 Fan yep and then at some point some other company will have the rights and then rebels will no longer be consider Canon. The only thing that without a doubt will always remain Canon for Disney is if it can make money it will be canon. I don't care if people like the new canon, I'm glad y'all enjoy it. Their was some things I liked in the clone wars series, I just prefer the old eu.
@jurassicpark1fan9207 жыл бұрын
Personally I like both Canon and the old EU. I think TCW and Rebels will always be canon as Disney will ensure no matter who owns Lucasfilm next likely a live action film with characters from Rebels like how Rogue One had Saw from TCW. So who knows we may see Ezra show up in live action spinoff just to ensure their canon cannot be overridden.
Starkiller/Galen Marek is an interesting character, but he was a little OP according to SOME reviews. However, that MAY be your average game mechanics. I'm sure the novels make him toned down, yet still buff in his use of the Force and NOT nerfed. Boy, Starkiller is an intense character. Great video, Matt!! I'll definitely read the books, but not play the game regarding various complaints. On the contrary...Keep it UP!! The Force is with you! #LongLiveLEGENDS #LEGENDSNeverDie #MTFBWY 🙂👍🌠🐉📚

+Kaleesh Matriarch the novels did tone him down. in the novel he only slowed the star destroyer from falling and then basically tilted it so it would fall and he was barely able to do it. And yeah, gameplay footage in the games were not canon, but the generally story was canon.
@wolfpredator10007 жыл бұрын
They were saying (apparently) that for TFU III Vader and Galen were going to team up against one of the emperor's threats; and my idea about it was that the Emperor knew about Vader cloning Starkiller, so he used the essence transfer to taste on how it can be apply with a force sensitive to later do it on himself (dark empire), and after the events from TFU II the threat was the clones of Palpatine that he was proving at that time (in order to correct the statement Leland Chee did about him lying to Luke on the issue of doing it many times) but not because he die, but rather fell into comma or something to later get back into his original body. What do you think about this theory, Matt?
@KidCreatorIV7 жыл бұрын
I enjoyed the Force Unleashed but I don't like the Force Unleashed II. I just thought the story was garbage. Also what's interesting about the first game is that each console version of game is different. I first played the game on the PS2 and then later on the Xbox 360 and they were drastically different.

Good review Matt. I just happened to have finished reading the first book not to long ago and I absolutely loved it! I notice a lot of EU haters tend to use the Force Unleashed as ammunition for attacking the EU because they claim Galen Marek A.K.A. Starkiller is an "overpowered character." many believe that Starkiller is overpowered just because of the gameplay footage. What so many people don't understand is that none of the gameplay footage in Star Wars video games is even canon. They don't even know what S-Canon is and they don't know how only the story and characters from the Force Unleashed were canon. Also in the novel some of Starkiller's feats are downplayed. He never pulled the Star Destroyer down from the sky. It was already falling down. All Galen did to it was redirect which way it went, or changed the angle of which it was falling, and it was not something Starkiller did with casual ease. he was almost to the point of passing out! As for Galen completely "rag-dolling" the Emperor like EU haters claim, he actually was caught off guard by Starkiller. during the scene if I remember correctly the Emperor was completely focused on Rahm Kota and had his back turned to Starkiller who took the opportunity to throw a piece of debris from the battle at him. And then the Emporer pretended to be defeated. So Starkiller is not some Force-god like many believe.

kmwaite an over powered character? how about the unstoppable Rey from Episode 7 who can do no wrong. She knows all and does all with no training whatsoever. Is there a difference there? I think not : ) Thanks for the comment
@kmwaite7 жыл бұрын
Exactly! Galen Marek became skilled because of Vader's brutal training. Rey used a Jedi mind trick without ever learning how to! They did something similar to Quinlan Vos in the Disney Canon novel Dark Disciple. It wasn't a bad book, but they made Quinlan Vos able to completely overpower and rag-doll Count Dooku with no effort and as if he was completely helpless just because Vos had like 2-months of training in the Dark Side from Asajj Ventress. Yoda has had hundreds of years of training and it still took him effort to beat Dooku and force him into a retreat in Episode 2. This begs the question, why didn't the Jedi Council send Vos instead of Anakin and Obi-wan to rescue the Chancellor and defeat Dooku in Episode 3 if he can instantly overpower the Count? The EU version of Vos in the Dark Horse comics got completely outclassed by Dooku. Ugh, the Disney Canon is already becoming an inconsistent mess and its only almost as large as the Old Canon was when Vector Prime came out!

I agree, Starkiller isn't as powerful as people make him out to be. Starkiller never really fought Sidious in the novel. If Starkiller fought Yoda or Mace Windu he would lose

Actually TFU and Rebels (not Rogue One) don't contradict at all, so they can have it be canon someday. Rebels focus on just one of the many rebel cells in the galaxy, Phoenix Squadron. Damn, Cham Syndulla and Saw Gerrera were fighting before the idea of the Alliance was conceived, so who knows. Sam Witwer is in good terms with LF, and i bet he would love to reprise the role that got him involved with this universe in the first place.

In the Force Unleashed II game, you get some extra scenes that indeed confirm (from my point of view) that the Starkiller from the second game is a clone, but considering this scenes as canon would let another loose end, you should check them out, they're pretty good, and very short: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mpeWk5-wiaZ8jtU Great video, as always! :)
