What they don’t know is the extra stuff like behind the scenes. Like the actual dialogue, how deep the manipulation went, and many other things as well. Yeah you told us the story, showed us some major highlights, but we need ALL the details. My theory is that he killed EVERY SINGLE NEWS REPORTER on the entire planet. As a way to "cleanse" the TV and send a clear message of "I own the news. I don't care who your reporters were, all I care is who you gonna choose next". AND, if you look back and think about it, remember how after that montage, ALL of the news channels came out like "We side with Kira", then the other nations went like "Aight, this man way too powerful and we can't even get close to him. We accept Kira, too, and will drop all the investigation we had on him so far". After getting rid of L and knowing himself untouchable, he went on a rampage precisely because he knew there were no more consequences to his actions anymore, and that right there was the very beginning of paving the way towards his new world that he envisioned in which he was the almighty God he always saw himself as.

Naomi's character was originally intended to have a larger role in the storyline which included investigating possible suspects for the Kira Case and expanded interaction with her fiancé. However, once Raye's character was killed, author Tsugumi Ohba believed that having Naomi search for Kira was a "natural and interesting development" in the story. Within the cast of characters at the time, Sayu Yagami was the only notable female. In adding Naomi, Ohba could finally have the "cool" female character he had always wanted. He initially planned for Naomi to have a long involvement in the story but underestimated the character's deductive abilities. Because she was able to uncover crucial plot information "faster than…thought," Ohba decided to end her character early or face complications with the story development later on. He described the storyline issue of Naomi as the greatest difficulty that he created for himself since the beginning of the series.

I think in Japan’s version, there’s one more scene after Light dies. Due to many similar characteristics, it has widely been believed that this Shinigami could, in fact, be the reincarnation of Light Yagami. L was pure logic. So what not is mentioned here. Ge is vest detective amd search for logic. With 100% succes rate before light. He always got 100% sure someone was guilty with proof. But he never got beyond 5% sure with light. Because tbere where things he could not explain. So him touching notebook completely messed him up like how atheist would be if he would happen to see angel appaer. He was depressed and gave up for while before redeeming himself.

What wasn't mention in the manga and anime though, was that when Light dies he will be cursed to become a Death God (Shinigami) for eternity. This was heavily hinted by Ryuk the Death God (Shinigami) that gave Light the original Death Note at the beginning, and the one who killed Light at the very end, proving that Ryuk is no friend of Light's and has no love nor friendship for Light as well. He was merely a spectator watching a real life Truman Show on the life of Yagami Light for entertainment. A Shinigami is supposed to take lives and then add the life span of those who died into their life span with the Death Note. However, if a Shinigami takes a life with the intention to save another, it will end up doing the reverse. The life span of the Shinigami will go to the person that they saved. Misa had 2 Shinigami sacrifice their lives to save her. So even though her life span was halved twice to get the Eyes of the Shinigami to enable her to see the names of the people she sees, she technically and theoretically speaking should have decades or even hundreds of years left. Furthermore, the one who ended up shooting and killing Light was the most useless and incompetent person in the task force. He's no genius, is clumsy, is like the guy with the least experience in the group and fumbles alot but is known to have heart and a strong sense of justice. Everyone else in the task force to catch Kira were way more qualified than him, and yet he was kept around by Light probably as a joke or it was Light's attempt to keep incompetent people in the task force to make them unable to catch himself. In the end, the one who made the split second decision to shoot Light and prevented him from killing even one more person was the most normal, incompetent man with a strong sense of justice. Not the smartest person in the room, nor the bravest person in the room, nor the most zealous and devout in the room nor the most loyal in the room. It was the most normal common man who was outraged at the deception and betrayal of Light and his treacherous actions of even doing something so inhumane to his own sister, father and lover.
