Kidd Operations: Celebrating 50 Years of Excellence in Mining

Based in Timmins, Ontario, Canada, Kidd Operations is the deepest base metal mine in the world. With a maximum depth of almost 3kms, the mine produces zinc and copper concentrates from one of the world’s largest and richest known volcanogenic massive sulphide deposits. The mine employs 850 people directly and is a major contributor to the regional and provincial economy. Kidd is widely regarded as a leader in health, safety and environmental performance and has received numerous regional and national awards for its achievements in these areas. The Mine employs the latest technology in its operations and is a significant driver of economic development in Northern Ontario. In 2016, Kidd Operations celebrated its 50th year of operation.

ya my uncle worked there. He died of lung cancer 2 months after he took early retirement. never smoked a day in his life. nice pension though
