I don't understand why they tell us about how they had to walk barefoot to school and how there Parents would whoop then with baseball bats and stuff like that and how they only got 2 dollars for lunch and dollar was for them to Catch the bus after school and I'm just like why are you telling me your Horror story it makes me sad that that's the things they went through😣 but its like damn y'all have to tell me this. After my mom or grandma tells me a story I always have nightmares about it 😪 so I rather not hear it

Probably cuz they're bitter, and jealous that most of us don't have to go thru what they did. Telling ur kids about how you struggled is fine but not, you know, in a condescending way. Older people should really just be proud & glad that most of us are somewhat thriving. Maybe they also say those things to try to get us to respect them, but they should work on how to not be obnoxious about it.
