Foxes are in the canidae family there related to dogs wolves and coyotes biologically but they’re behavior is pretty cat like and are capable of climbing better than most felines.

Just like dogs, wolves, coyotes and jackals, foxes belong to the Canidae family, but while dogs, wolves and coyotes belong to the genus known as Canines, foxes belong to Vulpines. Kinda the same way how cats, lions, tigers, leopards, jaguars and Cheetahs belong to the same family known as Felidae, lions, tigers, leopards and jaguars belong to the genus known as Panthera or Pantherinae, house cats and some smaller cats belong to the genus known as Felis Catus and Cheetahs belong to the genus known as Acinonyx. Also while foxes are related to dogs but act like cats, hyenas are more related to cats but act like dogs.

Got it a bit mixed up, domestic dogs, wolves and coyotes are true dogs, belong to the genus (Canis) that's Latin for dog. True foxes are in in genus (Vulpes) that's Latin for fox. Canines aka Caninae (modern dog-like kin) includes domestic dogs, wolves and coyotes also foxes is a subfamily. Domestic dogs, wolves and coyotes are in the genus (Canis) that's in family Canidae, subfamily Caninae, tribe Canini, subtribe Canina. Foxes are in the genus (Vulpes), family Canidae, subfamily Caninae, tribe Vulpini. Lions, tigers, leopards, jaguars are in the genus (Panthera), subfamily Pantherinae aka Pantherine. domestic cat of the genus (Felis) and cheetah of the genus (Acinonyx), subfamily Felinae aka Feline.

Around here foxes are as common as birds. We have both red and gray foxes running all over the place. A lot of people pick up a small slingshot to give them a small but quick bite due to them tearing into trash and spreading it all over. Yeah they're only looking for food, and have learned that humans waste a lot of food, but people still don't want them tearing it up. Personally, we burn, so it's not really a problem for us. With feeding our dogs, foxed were never a problem, but skunks were. I had to shoot a fox one night because it was stealing our dog food and leaving our dogs with nothing. It came every damn night. So I really didn't have much of a choice.

9:42 American Grey ("fox") quyeto (Urocyon cinereoargenteus) and American Channel island ("fox") quyeto (Urocyon littoralis) aren't actually foxes, they aren't in the tribe Canini that includes true dog (Canis) and kin, or in the tribe Vulpini that includes true fox (Vulpes) and kin, they are the most basal (primitive) living members sitting in the family Canidae or Canid (dog-like) and subfamily Caninae or Canine (modern dog-like), unofficially in there own tribe Urocyonini (primitive modern dog-like. Personally i call them a native American name from the Chibcha language, of Quyeto meaning tree dog although they also aren't true dogs, the name dog can loosely be applied due to them being in the family Canidae (resemblance of Canis aks dog), and the cyon in Urocyon is ancient greek for dog.

This is going to seem morbid as hell to a lot of people here, but I collect skulls and actually have several fox skulls. The only breeds I have though are the red and gray fox. The reason I have so many Is because I'm signed up to a subscription which sends me a skull every month. So I have a lot of duplicates of several different species of animals. Probably the most unusual skull I have is a zebra. It's a toss up between the zebra and the buffalo as to which is the biggest in my collection. I also have about 100 skulls and am saving up for a couple others that, as of yet, I don't have.
