Messi was 17 when he first made his debut appearance for Barcelona, CR7 was I think 17 when he first started for Man Utd, but most of these clips he is 18-22 years old The best players I have seen play at really young ages are actually neither of these guys, R9 (Luis Ronalso) was better at 16 than both Messi and CR7 were at 18/19 years old, and Wayne Rooney was also better at 16 years old than both, however Messi and CR7 have mad career longevity, and Messi in particular got better and better up until about 30 years old, where as CR7 had lost his explosive dribbling by that age, Messi still had it. Truth is R9 (Luis Ronaldo) would have been better than both across his career were it not for knee injuries. Also Maradona (IMO) was better than all of them, he is the Goat (Messi is a better dribbler, slightly, and has slightly better close control, and is a better finisher, but again only slightly, where as strength, passing, tackling, game IQ , and creative spark (the ability to do the unexpected) Maradona was better, again slightly for most, but Maradona was a LOT stronger, far less predictable and but he is better at more things IMO. Thing is with Messi its not that what he does(Did) is unpredictable, you know what he is going to try most of the time, its just he is playing on a scale of Millimeters, where as most other players are in the scale of Inches. WIth Messi you know what is coming and still cant stop it, Maradona was like that too, but he could also pull out something totally unexpected. Messi is the better Forward, but Maradona is the better all round player and midfielder IMO
