As a kid the rented the vhs multiple times. My first time seeing Caine, and probably the first movie to get me interested in history and the older styles of music.

Fantastic film, one of my all-time favourites. Some may debate on the historical accuracy, but I felt it captured the tragedy and pathos of the Highlanders and Jacobite cause post-Culloden.

Just a brilliant film and the music is so moving. I play this every so often to stir some emotions.

Haunting soundtrack. Very good movie. Alan Breck looks out to the Scottish countryside while walking up to the Edinburgh Castle. Great scene.

Love this film as it captures the sadness and despair during the aftermath of the defeat at Culloden perfectly

Roy Budd is up there with the best. Proud to say I have most of his soundtracks.

My father spent weeks painting his cottage for the new owners. Turned out the studio bought it for this incredible film. Its Johnstone Cottage in Laurencekirk, my Grandfather's home.

Always loved this movie, and the music just smelled of the time the place and the tragedy of a passing way of life and the struggle to come to terms with that realisation.

Jack Pulman amalgamated elements of Kidnapped and Catriona plus invented some more. It's a departure from RLS, but worthy in its own right. By some margin its the best film of Kidnapped. Caine's final speech at the end was so arresting that the film crew broke into massed, spontaneous applause at its conclusion. When you see it, you'll understand why. A host of superb Brit actors & actresses made this one shine.

Roy Budd really was an under appreciated genius.

You should be very proud. He was a very, very talented musician and taken from us far before his time. I have been an admirer for many years.

Hello to you. This is a beautiful suite of music from this film that you've uploaded. Could you please produce a complete soundtrack suite if you have access to the complete CD soundtrack album? What you've done is suburb but I'd love to hear the full soundtrack. Thank you in anticipation. Colin F. - New Zealand

It's Not Over. Not Yet. Will come again. They're waiting for us to Return. They're just waiting for us to come Back. (Michael Caine as Alan Breck, KIDNAPPED 1971 Film)

“There’ll be no next time. There was never a “this time” either” - James Stuart. Every line in this film is fire, you’d struggle to cut 3 minutes out of this film without losing something great.

A fine film but unusual for a cockney to play a scotsman never the less he carried it off really well

I think it worked: he spent his life in exile raising the means of return, makes sense he would have a weird accent.

Terrible film, which not only bastardised RLS's magnificent book, it enables halfwits, who know nothing of history, to think this is historical fact. One to avoid. ( Not half as squirm worthy as Braveheart, though) :)
@guypierson57545 жыл бұрын
This is not a historically accurate book, nor movie. That said, it's an awesome film, and hopefully in the 5 years since your wrote this comment you have come to understand the film's themes of severe PTSD, war crimes and sacrifice of self on the altar of ideal.
@josephmannion17144 жыл бұрын
How is it a bad film? How is Braveheart a bad film? JUST BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT HISTORICALLY ACCURATE DOES NOT MEAN THEY ARE BAD! WHAT. I'ts based on true events and has made it a great fiction. I mean come on sir! You can't seriously think these two films are bad can you?
