Not mentioned in this video is that just last year, Sayeh was named lead investigator on a case where a school principal was accused of sexually abusing students. She's really gone on to save lives. Edited to add: The trial for that principal started this week, I think. It's local news for me, so I'll try to edit this comment when the verdict is in. Final Edit: The jury found him guilty of 46 out of 50 charges including sexual assault and endangering of a minor. The maximum sentence is 20 years in prison (I have no idea if that’s per conviction or for all charges at once).

Child services the courts most likely every adult in her life other than her father failed that child and her sister. This is what happens when the courts feel that a child should be with their mother simply because the mother is the female in our society is female biased when it comes to child custody. I’m a Mum an agree with 100%. My Mum was abusive. she left when I was 6 and thankfully my Dad got custody of me and my siblings because then she didn’t want us. She had a new boy friend and that’s all she cared about. It would have been ok if that was how she left it but she came back when I was ten, and instead of finally becoming the Mum we should have had she subjected us more of her abuse. She hated me, but I was a kid and I didn’t deserve it. She abuse me as baby till I was six and then comes back to do it again. There is no excuse she could ever give that makes what she did ok. Women aren’t always the mothers society wants to believe they are, and that they should be.

I am infuriated by mothers like the one in this case who put alcohol and their drunken libidos before their own children. My own mother dealt with this with her drunk of a foster mother and my mom ended up raped and nearly killed by it at 18 months old. From then on she ended up being regularly sexually assaulted by her foster mother’s many one-night stands. I’m not saying that single mothers shouldn’t be allowed to date but they shouldn’t let these people around their children. Pedophiles regularly target single mothers because they want access to the child(ren) and single mothers often let their guards down because they’re lonely and just grateful to find someone who they believe wants them even though they have children. This happened with my mother in the sense that she married my father and willfully conceived me with him in hopes of having a daughter despite the fact that she knew my father was a convicted pedophile. As a result my life was just like hers in the sense that my father sexually abused me from infancy until I was about 13-14 years old. I believe that he sexually assaulted some of my friends but I don’t have any proof. I think my mother was willfully ignorant and was able to remain as such because I didn’t tell her what my dad was doing to me and no other children came forward with accusations so in her mind he was honoring her promise to never reoffend. If you are a single mother and trying to date I plead with you to know your partners inside and out before you even entertain the thought of having them around your children. If you want to just have some fun one-night stands, fine, but don’t bring these people into your house and fall asleep where they can have access to your children. Have the encounters at your partners’ homes, hotel rooms, anywhere but at home if your kids are there. And if you find out your partner is a pedophile, even if they were only ever arrested and charged for it once, don’t believe them when they try to sell you some story about how it was a misunderstanding or how they’ve changed. My father was only ever convicted once but that just meant he was only ever caught once. Once a pedophile, always a pedophile. Some dick is not worth your child’s sanity or possibly even their life. And just because they’re sleeping with you doesn’t mean that they don’t want to hurt your children. To them, sleeping with you is a means to an end. If you value your partner over your children you are scum. You’re as vile as the perpetrator you exposed your kids to.

My cousins are in a similar situation where their parents got a divorce and my aunt, who is very mentally ill and an alcoholic won custody of them. She often leaves them alone for even days on end with boyfriends she has just started dating. This story is truly devastating, and it terrifies me that something like this might happen to them.

So grateful she had a good father. So grateful she survived and we hear you. Sara will always be in your heart. Thank you for sharing her story. Mother should be punished for child abuse by allowing her boyfriend to abuse her daughter. It pains me when the court system allows a parent to refuse to protect their children from harm. Usually for financial reasons. Mom could have sent her daughter to her father for protection but refused and failure to report child abuse is a crime that shouldn't be ignored.

It makes me sick that her mother was even able to win custody in the first place, and that all the signs were there and nobody listened. I was forced and abused by family court professionals, and basically left to see if I committed suicide after living with a parent who I refuse to accept I’m related to. My mother is the only reason I stayed alive, bc I knew she loved me, I’m 18 and have finally aged out of the system, no one should ever have to feel this kind of pain, and yet it’s all around us, I’m so glad these two sisters made it out and are sharing their story, they both are truly strong and I hope with all my heart that they will find/get/have healing from that horrible time.
