Just bought it , I randomly seen it on the umbrella website this morning and was super surprised, I’m just happy we got some type of boutique release for a film involving harmony , but we need gummo , it would look amazing in Blu-ray or 4k , cuz the dvd is not bad at all

Oh and the slipcover of the version in the boxset is identical to the slipcover of the regular edition except for the info paper included with the numbered release

I appreciate you showing these off so I can see what's in mine. I ordered one lobby cards boxset, then I decided to order a 35mm film frame boxset when they popped back up for sale for like 2 days days after my first order had shipped, along with 2 regular editions. I'm keeping the boxsets and one regular edition sealed and opened my other regular edition and watched the documentary immediately since I watched my VHS copy recently. Gonna watch the Bluray soon with a buddy who has never seen it. I love watching this film with people for their first time and explaining that the movie is super graphic and many find difficult to watch. Also how the distribution deal went and how the movie was released to theaters and home video as 'UNRATED' because it is so graphic. They all have the same reaction, thinking they can handle it, having such a benign title and subject matter they think they have seen in other movies about teens and drinking, drugs, and sex, which this movie is the most hardcore version of, and is extremely shocking on almost everybody's first watch. Then I like to explain how I grew up in Upstate NY and how this movie changed my life. I definitely went down a different path after seeing this movie and watching my cousin go down a path like this kids in the movie, and I'm super lucky and thankful I did clean my act up after seeing the movie at 12 or 13 years old, and changed my values and actions significantly, instead of valuing what MTV was telling us was 'cool'. I'm a huge fan of the film and how realistic it is and how it changed my life. I also own the Laserdisc, the Canadian VHS Rental Screener, all 3 different US VHS versions, both US DVD versions, UK and Australian DVD, US original book, and I am getting the UK VHS from a very generous collector very soon. I am so thankful Umbrella made this set before the movie gets 'cancelled' and banned for sale on Ebay or something stupid like that.

It was interesting to hear how this movie changed your life and how you cleaned up your act because of it. And I remember it being pretty shocking the first time I watched it but also just how real it feels. And the story of how it was released and that it was originally NC-17 and the stir that it caused it very interesting to me. I hope your friend enjoys it.

The film has a new color grade too (not a new scan)! Not sure why that isn't advertised more. They corrected it to match the original print from 1995. All of the prior home video releases were very washed out.
