I'm very happy I tuned in to the Outdoor Boys for the latest video! Glad to have subscribed your channel it brings heart felt memories of growing up outdoors, taking my first big game animal with my dad (Caribou episodes). I'll tell you one thing... you are your kids hero and they will never forget the things you teach them. So down to earth keep up the great videos!!!!

I love how much the boys love this. As a new Dad, I really hope my son gets into the way I was raised with camping in FNQ Australia. I'm envious of how much harsher your conditions are, in my mind. I'm sure if you camped with us, you'd struggle with what we know as normal. Thanks for sharing some solid Dad moments with your boys mate.

Never seen anyone start a fire directly on ice. We have a metal thing that holds the wood above the ice and by the end there is a nice hole about six inches deep in the ice. First time I've seen The Outdoor Boys on someone elses channel too.
@HowtoAlaska4 жыл бұрын
There are a few tricks to starting a fire directly on the ice. It takes a long time to melt through the ice, but the bigger problem is water from the melting ice at the base of your fire. Ash insulates the ice later in the fire’s life... so tricks to establish a fire are key.

Did any of you have anything for bear protection? And it didn't seem like like much ice fishing was going on, did you guys drill a bunch of holes and make a Tip-Up field?
@HowtoAlaska4 жыл бұрын
With the sub zero temps and other action it was tough to keep an eye on the ice fishing... but Cody definitely fished for a few hours
