I'm so glad I watched this as a kid. There's something real about the atmosphere, and the amateurishness of it all. Maybe because you're watching young adults reliving the high school lives they lived only a handful of years ago. Also that school always looks like it's about to face the wrecking ball.

Jimmy should have won an Emmy for his performance. He was brilliant.

I had heard Penny Lane by the Beatles many times before, but for some reason when I saw this episode of Fame it caught my eye. You can tell that Jimmy has some real talent. Is his version as good as the Beatles? No, but it has it's own charm, which is probably why many people enjoyed his rendition. I believe this was the only episode of Fame that he guest starred. It's too bad that Gene Anthony Ray died in 2003, as he was a very talented dancer. May have to get the series on DVD.

Although I had heard this song before, I did not become a fan of it until I heard Jimmy sing this on the television show Fame...I don't know why. I just think his performance is so innocent...I have liked it ever since.

A pity the BBC could think, however the BBC doesn't have a brain to think with ! Penny Lane is in my ears. Brilliant, Jimmy Osmond Convinces me, he his super awesome !

Gosh, Jimmy was an exact copy of his brother Merrill at this time!!!! They both had light brown hair while the rest of the siblings had very dark brown hair! Now however, both Merrill and Jimmy have grey hair.

She is up for a singing solo in a show and then Shorofsky suggenly brings in a new student mid-year and asks him to sing for the class, so she is concerned that he will be the singer. That's my recollection.

This song is sung well...by American drama kids....but it is vibrant in Liverpool and best sung by our little Beatles xxx
