It was fun to get to know Lucas' brother! He seems cooler than him and I don't really know why. The caterpillar story made me want to throw up though. I had heard a bunch about Groups from Jessica Kent, who is one of my favourite KZbinrs and an embassador for the brand. She got cancelled from the TikTok/KZbin sobriety community twice, once for smoking prescribed weed to treat her ADHD because that was seen as a personal failure in her sobriety and once for speaking up about her partner's abuse because that was seen as her exposing his personal failures in his sobriety. Groups stayed partnered with her through both "scandals" and she points out their openness about different paths to recovery, including medically assisted treatment and cannabis, every time she mentions them. So it was very cool to hear Cooper speak about it a bit. PS: I need you to know that sobriety just almost autocorrected to Sobroety a bunch of times and that isn't even your podcast name anymore, despite today's episode. That's pretty embarrassing for me.

I found Lucas' thought about needing to be an addict or have an addictive personality to become extraordinarily successful pretty interesting. I kept thinking about ADHD and how it makes you have a really addictive personality because you are pretty desperate to get dopamine anywhere, but how that really works better to throw you into substance abuse than productivity because the latter will probably more likely end in a sudden lack of interest in the thing you were meant to be productive in because you got all out of it that you could and now you're moving on to the next thing, whereas the former will probably end with you dead because you keep going deeper and the bottom of the well is pretty bleak. Not to say that you can't recover from an addiction if you have ADHD or can't be productive and successful wuth ADHD, these are basically just shower thoughts by a non-expert. I'm just wondering what stabilising factors you also need to succeed that go beyond a grind or a hustle that pushes you past your limits.

What does the title mean? I think it makes total sense, I'm just wondering what it's relating to in this episode.
