Is their parents that skirt responsibility, and we're too afraid to say "no" when it came to technology. There are still plenty of parents raising good whole kids. Sadly there's equally if not more that are just giving them phones, computers and games.

But that's the way I was with my interests, everyone's different, and it's important for parents to see what their children gravitate towards and support it at all cost. I tried taking my little niece out to go on a hike and go bowling after and her moms reaction baffled me all she had to say was "she's safer inside on her tablet where no bugs are around and no nasty dirt" and I was SHOCKED because we used to play in the NASTIEST creeks when we were children and had the absolute BEST days ever there or when we used to take "mud baths" in our bathing suits after it rained in the biggest puddles we could find like people have really disconnected from mother earth and in a really bad way. When we lived in one place, my brother went down to the giant puddle across the driveway with his rod-n-reel, one morning; about the same time as the neighbor cranked up the School Bus. She had a route to run before she came back to run our route. It was Hilarious when she came back to pick us up, and, the rest of our route. Listen, you boomers just love to criticize young people. I have two little boys and we live in a neighborhood of families. Kids are out playing and goofing off outside all damn day in the summer. My door is being knocked on daily by kids wanting to play w mine, so much so that I have to put a sign over the doorbell during my toddler’s naptime so they don’t wake him. It’s ugly when older generations show contempt for younger ones. You’re probably just not around them enough to see how kids really are these days.

I'm surprised that todays news didn't try to spin the image here and make it all about climate change or privileged whiteness making others into servants for their pleasure, ....but then, I saw it was two normal kids just playing and doing what kids do, and it reminded me to TURN OFF the NEWS and get back to what life is about. This evening, we had an after wedding rehearsal dinner at my sons future in-laws. 106° in the backyard. 6 or 7 of their young grandchildren played on a trampoline with a running garden hose. They were giggling and having fun. I made the comment, "They'll never forget these days of summer." I'm 65 yo, and I'll never forget. Unless the Lord has other plans for me.
