ikr! bittermelon is amazing when cooked right. I make an awesome bittermelon stir fry! Plus broccoli when its roasted at high heat and then finished with butter is divine! Mushroom sauteed in butter, garlic and herbs is a great side dish.

Yeah, i was about to comment the same. I don't like bitter melon (ampalaya) when i was a kid. Now it's my favorite vegetable as an adult. Eating them raw made that mom relived her worst nightmare coz it's more bitter than usual, coz cooked's the way it should be.
