Dr Jitendra Kumar Soni is known for his efforts to uplift the poor, underprivileged and specially-abled persons. An award-winning IAS officer, Soni is currently District Magistrate of Alwar in Rajasthan. In this edition of 'The Interview', Soni recalls his journey from his childhood to Alwar's Collector. The IAS officers are not effective in my opinion. They still act like aristocrats assigned by the British colonial Empire to look down on the poor people of India. There needs to be reforms in the civil services.
