As someone who was finally diagnosed with Tourettes at age 24, I can vouch how painful it is to be a small child rolling your eyes back in your head uncontrollably, squeaking and being "weird." I find it hard to watch these videos considering I wasn't able to achieve a diagnosis or an explanation until I had my own money in graduate school. God bless these kids.

@@graceymacrae7445 Tourettes, ADHD, and OCD are all caused by dysfunction in the basal ganglia (part of the brain) so most people often have multiple overlapping disorders. Glad you got diagnosed!

You can tell Marco and Callum are both so intelligent, kind and well-spoken. If they can find find an understsnding and supportive environment there's no limit to what they can achieve! As for the circus music behind Connor's behavior I think it was to lighten the mood since his language can be so dark and offensive. It's shocking. Walking into a public place with a child using language like that probably feels like being in a circus...you don't know what to expect. I liked how they incorporated Rocket Man by Elton John for the sweet boy who wants to be an astronaut.

I have Tourette’s. Was horrible throughout middle school and high school and after that my tics basically disappeared. Now I rarely, if ever tic. Any kid out there with Tourette’s, it’s gonna suck for a while, but many times it will get better. Puberty makes tics worse cuz of the hormonal imbalance, so many times after puberty symptoms of Tourette’s can improve

Poor Marco looks so frustrated and stressed with his Tourette's. The other 2 boys look stressed too but not as defeated as Marco. I really feel for him and hope it gets easier for him.

I'm so glad that Callum and Marco had success through therapy. On the other hand, Connor actually frightened me. In the video he stops just short of hitting the cat but freely strikes out at both of his parents. I think there's more going on with Connor than just TS and wonder how he's doing today.

As a Rehabilitation worker at a Children's Rehabilitation centre in Zimbabwe I have seen that parental love and family support is of utmost importance to children with neurological problems and other conditions

I’m a Dad & Grandpa in my 50’s, and my TS is every bit as bad as it was when I was a teen/20 something. It went away for a few years & sadly returned with a vengeance. My marriage fell apart & have virtually zero quality of life now. I have no insurance & no medical treatment. My life is a living hell. Connor mostly reminds me of me when I was his age.

These kids needs compassion, understanding and to be included in activities with other kids. This is an illness and I imagine it presents differently from person to person. I hate people judging what they don’t know. Many of the comments on here are insensitive.

It’s just SO bad that the most common tics are also the behaviours that children do when they are misbehaving. It just puts a label on them as a ‘problem’ and a target for bullies early on. And in public, it stigmatizes the family. Especially hitting, threats and bad language. So misunderstood and ostracizing.

Jack o Jack and eaten Kate... Diabetes is a disease and Tourettes is a syndrome. They are different from each other, so different specialists are needed. And it's not an ignorant comment, I was just telling what worked for me. We can't afford a specialist back then so my parents did what seems to work that time. They did their best to be educated and learn more about Tourettes. I'm not really or fully "cured" but somehow, I am able to control my tics & those what I used to call "toot-toot" moments. Thanks anyway.

You guys are seriously overreacting. “His parents should discipline him” THEY HAVE. HE’S A GOOD KID, Y’ALL. It’s TOURETTES SYNDROME, LITERALLY AHAT THE ENTIRE DOCUMENTARY IS ABOUT. No parent would tolerate that some kids gets a free pass after hitting or kicking someone. Having TS cannot be a free pass for behavior that harms other people and animals. BTW: swearing in TS is EXTREMELY RARE & this one kid Connor seems to always be swearing. And it’s not fair to everyone else to have to put up with someone screaming swear words . Until any child can behave properly in public they need to stay home. You can’t make allowance for one person at the expense of everyone else.

Tourette syndrome comes in many different forms, like so many other diseases/syndromes as well. Most people with it have physical tics and/or make noises. I think it's only 10% that have vocal tics and swear. Some people with tourette's have very little and mild tics that barely interfere with their lives while others have constant and "extreme" tics which leaves those people with a horrible quality of life (basically unable to function).

I have 6 children. Their father has motor tics. 2 of our 6 children have motor tics. I assure you that your belief posted is flawed. This condition has nothing to do with proper parenting. The more you attempt to suppress the motor tic, the more physical pain the person feels. Your approach would cause a divide between your child and you, doing nothing to improve the tic.

Connor is faking, his grandma basically diagnosed him. She threw it out there and put it in his head. He's nonchalantly cursing on Q playing it up for the camera.
