If I remember correctly, they were going to the electrification to Bristol temple meads. But this was cancelled due to the expense, and the rest of the project being over budget, and over the allotted time scale to complete the project

Well your question is probably something to do with the locals and its it because of the bridge London bound as the pantographs may get blown down because of how high the bridge is or could it be the costing on electrifying this part of the network

Electrification has gone as far as Bristol parkway, then it's goes only as far as Cardiff I think. Only certain areas that are electrified all ready are live. But there is an issue I think at Didcot parkway, where they can't run on electric, Due to a bridge
